A Week Filled with Purpose and Fun
This year felt different for me. I wasn’t just a student enjoying the festivities—I was stepping into my role as a department officer. That meant the week wasn’t only about experiencing the fun, but also fulfilling my duties and responsibilities. Still, the change brought a positive kind of excitement, blending enjoyment with a sense of purpose.
The week kicked off with lively energy—performances lit up the stage, freshmen were warmly welcomed, and our department proudly unveiled its banner with a shower of confetti. In the days that followed, events unfolded one after another: academic contests, cultural showcases, and sports activities that highlighted both talent and teamwork. Each day carried its own spark, and I could feel the unity of the student body growing stronger.
Midweek, preparations for our booth were in full swing. We set up tables, arranged candies and cookies for sale, and decorated with a Squid Game twist combined with Larong Pinoy elements. The fusion of modern pop culture with a native theme gave the booth a unique charm, and I couldn’t help but feel a surge of pride and excitement seeing it come together. Officers, including myself, took turns manning the booth, welcoming customers, and sharing laughs in between sales. The steady stream of visitors, the friendly interactions, and the satisfaction of seeing our hard work pay off made every busy hour worth it.
As the week drew to a close, a closing program wrapped everything up with heartfelt gratitude and celebration. Looking back, I realized it wasn’t just the start of a new school year—it was the beginning of a chapter where I get to grow not just as a student, but as a leader. It was so fun to the point I don’t feel too much stress. Nevertheless, I still rewarded myself with a honey glazed chicken-wing (all time favorite)for accomplishing my first responsibility. We also had a pizza party with the dedicated officers and selfless volunteers.
The events, the laughter, the responsibilities—all of it reminded me that the best stories are written when we embrace both the fun and the challenges that come our way.
