Cine TV Contest - Favorite Movie Featuring a Mother [The Others]

It is the first time that I participate in this contest and I find it a very interesting dynamic, not only for the simple fact of expressing our ideas, but also because it is a good way to commemorate and celebrate a day as special as Mother's Day, so I gladly join this contest and I invite others to participate as well.
Es la primera vez que yo participo en este concurso y me parece una dinámica muy interesante, no solo por el simple hecho de expresar nuestras ideas, sino porque también es una buena forma de conmemorar y celebrar un día tan especial como lo es el día de las madres, así que gratamente me uno a este concurso e invito a los demás a participar también.
For this occasion I would like to talk about the movie The Others, starring Nicole Kidman. In this film we see Grace (Nicole's character) as an excessively strict mother, bitter character, with very dark shades, but this is actually because her only priority is to take care of her children and avoid as far as possible that their condition worsen, they live in a turbulent time (the war) so how could a mother feel living alone with her little ones in such a time? She would probably always be on the defensive, but her problem is that she doesn't know how to channel her emotions and that's why she panics in front of the supposed intruders and threats, which brings me to remember one of the famous phrases from Sixth Sense: “They see what they want to see.”
Para esta ocasión me gustaría hablar de la película Los otros, protagonizada por Nicole Kidman. En esta película vemos a Grace (el personaje de Nicole) como una madre excesivamente estricta, de carácter amargado, con matices muy oscuros, pero esto en realidad se debe a que su única prioridad es cuidar a su hijos y evitar en la medida de lo posible que su padecimiento empeore, viven en una época convulsionada (la guerra) así que ¿Cómo podría sentirse una madre viviendo sola con sus pequeños en una época así? probablemente siempre estaría a la defensiva, pero su problema es que ella no sabe canalizar las emociones y por eso entra en pánico ante los supuestos intrusos y amenazas, lo que me lleva a recordar una de las famosas frases de Sexto Sentido: "Ellos ven lo que quieren ver"
Grace may have reached a point of mental imbalance and emotional breakdown after the death of her husband, the abandonment of the servants and the state of health of her children, which led her to commit a real atrocity, which I will not talk about or reveal in case you have not yet seen the film, but it is part of one of the most impressive plot twists (at least for me it was) however, despite that we cannot blame her, precisely because she did not act with conscience, and her true intention was always to provide care and protection to her children, that's why she reacts with violence when she feels she cannot control a situation, such as the supposed siege of the new servants or the intervention of the “intruders” that inhabit the house.
Posiblemente Grace haya llegado a un punto de desequilibrio mental y quiebre emocional ante la muerte de su esposo, el abandono de los sirvientes y el estado de salud de sus hijos, lo cuál la llevó a cometer una verdadera atrocidad, de la cual no hablaré ni revelaré en caso de que aún ustedes no hayan visto la película, pero forma parte de uno de los giros de trama más impresionantes (al menos para mi lo fue) no obstante, a pesar de eso no podemos culparla, precisamente porque no actuó con consciencia, y sus verdadera intención siempre fue procurar atención y protección a sus hijos, por eso reacciona con violencia cuando siente que no puede controlar una situación, como el supuesto asedio de los nuevos sirvientes o la intervención de los "intrusos" que habitan la casa.
I believe that a mother is a mother no matter where she is, (if you saw the movie you will understand what I am trying to say) but I believe that a good mother is one whose only priority is her children, she loves and protects them at all times, that is why we should celebrate her day with love. As for the way we celebrate this special day in my culture and country (Venezuela) we usually offer gifts to our mother (who always tells us that her children are her greatest gift) and we also take them out for lunch or dinner. Creo que una madre es una madre sin importar donde esté, (si vieron la película entenderán lo que intento decir) pero creo que una buena madre es aquella cuya única prioridad son sus hijos, los ama y protege en todo momento, por eso debemos celebrar con amor su día. En cuanto a la forma en la que celebramos este día tan especial en mi cultura y país (Venezuela) usualmente ofrecemos regalos a nuestra madre (quien siempre nos dice que sus hijos son su mayor regalo) y también las llevamos paseo a almorzar o a cenar. Aquí les dejo una fotografía de mis hijas y yo cenando con mi esposa.

I haven't seen The Others yet, but your take on Grace's character makes me really curious to watch it. The idea of a mother's love driving her to do anything to protect her children, even if it leads to emotional imbalance or irrational decisions, is so powerful. I love how you connected it to the broader idea of what makes a mother - her unwavering priority is always her children, no matter the circumstances.
It also sounds like an incredible plot twist, which makes me even more intrigue to see the movie.
Yes, it really is an impressive movie in all aspects, you will be shocked as I was, I really recommend it.

Once in a year I do a rewatch of this movie one of my favourite movies about ghosts, Nicole Kidman was amazing here 💕
