Shadows That Hold Keys. Entry for Shadow Hunters SMASH Contest-round 416 [EN/ES]

Hello #ShadowHunters community,
Once again I’m taking part in this shadows contest, this time in round #416.

There are objects that hold more than they seem.
In my house, no one smokes, but among the inherited furniture sits a small wooden ashtray with a turned pedestal. We don’t use it for its original purpose; it has found another silent and discreet function: it is where the main key of the house rests. Always at hand, always in its place. To open the door for a family member, a friend, a neighbor; to leave quickly if needed. To return and feel that everything is in order, that there is security in routine and trust in the simple things.

Yesterday, while the sun streamed through the balcony, I paused to observe the scene. The shadow of the ashtray stretched across the floor, accompanied by the lines of the balcony railing projected onto the ground. The combination was delicate and precise: light and shadow recalling the quiet presence of that small object holding something so important—a key that is never lost, always waiting.

In that projection, the ordinary becomes extraordinary. The shadow of the ashtray and the railing reminded me that even the smallest gestures, like leaving a key in its place, can project security, calm, and care over the life that passes around it.

I declare that the images shared in this post are my own, captured with my mobile phone.
Since my native language is Spanish, I used Google Translate for the English version.

Thank you for welcoming me into your light,
and for allowing me to explore with you the poetry of shadows.

Spanish Version

Sombras que guardan llaves

Hola comunidad #ShadowHunters
