Hello #ShadowHunters community,
Once again I’m taking part in this shadows contest, this time in round #419.

Some lights do not come from the sun, yet they reveal just as much.

This shadow was born in the middle of a familiar moment in Cuba: an unexpected blackout. The disconnection of the national electroenergetic system, known as the SEN, has become something we experience more often than we would like. In those pauses imposed by darkness, routine changes, and attention shifts to the smallest details.

With only the soft light of a lamp, I noticed a small glass ornament shaped like a fish. Its transparency caught the light in a subtle way, but what truly drew my attention was not the object itself, but the shadow it projected. On the surface, the fish appeared again, transformed—darker, simpler, yet somehow more expressive.

There was no movement, no water, no life… and yet, the shadow seemed to swim quietly in that dim space.

In moments like these, when everything stops, light and shadow begin a different kind of dialogue. What is usually secondary becomes the center. And perhaps that is what these interruptions teach us: to look again, from another angle, and discover something new in what we already have.

Un pez hecho de sombra y luz.

Hola comunidad de #ShadowHunters,
Una vez más participo en este concurso de sombras, esta vez en la ronda #419.

Algunas luces no vienen del sol, y aun así revelan mucho.

Esta sombra nació en medio de un momento ya habitual en Cuba: un apagón inesperado. La desconexión del sistema electroenergético nacional, conocido como el SEN, se ha vuelto algo que vivimos con más frecuencia de la que quisiéramos. En esas pausas impuestas por la oscuridad, la rutina cambia y la atención se dirige a los detalles más pequeños.

Con la única luz de una lámpara, noté un pequeño adorno de cristal en forma de pez. Su transparencia captaba la luz de forma sutil, pero lo que realmente llamó mi atención no fue el objeto en sí, sino la sombra que proyectaba. Sobre la superficie, el pez volvía a aparecer, transformado: más oscuro, más simple, pero de alguna manera más expresivo.

No había movimiento, ni agua, ni vida… y sin embargo, la sombra parecía nadar en silencio dentro de ese espacio tenue.

En momentos como estos, cuando todo se detiene, la luz y la sombra comienzan un diálogo distinto. Lo que normalmente es secundario pasa a ser el centro. Y quizás eso es lo que nos enseñan estas interrupciones: a mirar de nuevo, desde otro ángulo, y descubrir algo nuevo en lo que ya tenemos.
