Clear Goals For A New Beginning. LOH Contest#269

Hello wonderful ladies of Hive, Happy New Year to you all. Just looking at the prompt for this week ignited the zeal in me to make my goals measurable and achievable, it is definitely a good way to start the year not just with plans, dreams and imaginations but setting easy and achievable goals.

Before the year started I had lots of things in mind, dreams and aspirations but there were only carefully drafted out and stored in my thoughts and with this prompt I have been able to write out all my aspirations into my diary and there are no longer vague in my mind.

In this post, I will be sharing some of them here, I hope to get back to this post as the year goes by to tell you all how far I have gone with achieving these set goals. So this post is to remind me that I have to be accountable for the things I have written here and try as much as I can to accomplish them one after the other.

I made up my mind that this year I would be careful not to repeat the mistakes I made last year, I had put up bulky goals that though were possible but was not quantifiable and had no time frame and it was quite difficult for me to achieve them.

But this year, I would have to break my goals down to simple and achievable task, I will make them a task and reward kind of goals. This is how it will go; for every goal I achieve, I will reward myself accordingly, at least I will do something for myself as a reminder that I accomplished a task.

The first thing I want to do this year is to learn at least one foreign language and that would be Mandarin Chinese. Yeah! I love languages but I want to make learning this language like a hobby, I want to become so good at speaking and reading it even if I might not be able to write it. I have procrastinated this for so long but this year I have to get started with it.

Secondly, I made up my mind to serve God better this year, I have been so lukewarm in my service to God and that I want to change this year. I want to serve God with everything in me and I hope to be empowered by the Holy Spirit to serve him to my best.

Thirdly, I want to study so hard to be in the clinical class this year. I am a medical student and in four months from now I would be on a hot seat writing my first professional exams that would determine my next phase in my career and I pray for God’s help and strength, I really have to pass these exams.

Another goal is music, I want to become better at singing, I have to give in my time to series of training to become better at it, I did not do so well last year but I have to buckle up this year.

Another goal that I have to achieve this year is to learn a skill at least one useful skill, maybe a tech skill or any other digital skill and be sure to practice the skill that I learnt.

This other goal is very important and that is making money, I have to do something that would fetch me money this year because I cannot afford to be broke.

Lastly, I love this one so well, I need to learn how to bake especially cakes, I love eating cakes a lot and it doesn’t make sense if I cannot make what I love eating and so I would learn how to bake different kinds of cakes and other pastries too.

So ladies this are just part of all I wish to accomplish this year, I hope I can do them one at a time, there are very easy and achievable.
