Splinterlands Art Contest Week 377 Nomos

Hello what's up you all of my hive friends
This is my New participate post in Splinterlands Art Weekly Contest
I am really happy to draw the art and participate in Splinterlands Art Weekly Contest 377
I Hope You Like My Art
Step 1
After the concept was clear, the next step was creating a rough gesture drawing. At this stage, simple lines and shapes were used to map out the pose, focusing on movement and flow rather than details. The upper body leans slightly forward, with the shoulders raised and the chest exposed, which helps show both vulnerability and strength. The arms are bent inward, pulling the hands together at the center, creating a strong triangular shape that directs attention to the glowing energy.
During this rough phase, the cloak were also placed to complement the gesture. The magic stick curves up and to the side, almost framing the character’s head, while the cloak spreads outward like wings. These shapes add a sense of motion and help balance the composition so that the image does not feel static. Even though the lines are messy in this step, they capture the main rhythm of the character’s body and the sense that everything is being drawn toward the center of his power.

Step 2
Once the gesture felt dynamic enough, the anatomy and body structure were refined. The chest, shoulders, and arms are especially important in this piece, because they communicate the character’s physical strength. The muscles were defined with clear shapes and strong lines, showing tension as if he is straining to control the energy inside him. The forearms, biceps, and chest muscles were carefully shaped to look heroic and stylized in an anime‑inspired way.
With the design confirmed, clean lineart was drawn over the sketch. This stage focused on precise, confident lines that clearly separate each element: hair, skin, clothing, stick, and energy effects. The hair was given sharp, layered strands to enhance the wild, untamed look. The facial expression was refined with clear eyes, eyebrows, and mouth shape, capturing a mixture of anger, determination, and pain.

Step 3
Once the lineart was complete, flat colors were added underneath it. The skin tone was chosen to be a light but slightly warm shade so the red shadows would stand out strongly. The hair was colored a saturated red to make it one of the main focal points, echoing the demonic theme. The cloak and clothing used a combination of dark navy, crimson, and purple, building a strong color harmony around red and its complementary shades
Each major part of the character was given its own flat color area: skin, hair, inner clothing, outer cloak, stick, bandages, and pants. This step helps organize the painting and makes later shading easier. The tail’s base color is a muted, bone‑like beige, while the sharp tip is dark red, making it look dangerous. At this stage, the background remained white so that the character’s colors could be judged clearly without distraction.

Step 5

Step 6

Step 7
The colors of the outfit were planned around reds, purples, and dark blues to create a dramatic and unified palette. The inside layers use brighter magenta and purple tones, which glow like internal energy, while the outer layers are darker to frame the body. The stick design includes a pale segmented base and a darker, pointed tip, resembling a spear or stinger. This shows that the stick is not just decorative but can be used as a weapon, contributing to the dangerous aura of the character.

Final Step
After the flat colors, shading was applied to create depth and drama. Strong cell‑shaded shadows were placed under the pectoral muscles, along the abs, underneath the arms, and around the neck. These shadows emphasize the character’s muscular build and the tension in his pose. Darker shadows on the cloak and tail help push them slightly back in space, letting the torso and face come forward visually.
In the final step, small corrections and polish were added to complete the piece. The overall contrast was adjusted so that the reds and purples remain vibrant without losing detail in the shadows. Any rough edges from coloring were cleaned, and some lines were softened or colored to blend better with the shading. Extra attention was paid to the face and hands, since those are the main areas viewers look at first.
