🇪🇸 ~ Hola a todos ~ 🧁 ☕ Espero estén pasando un lindo sábado, yo me siento contenta porque estoy recuperando el ritmo con muchas de las actividades extras que me gusta hacer, pero que tuve que dejar de lado un tiempo recientemente por temas de salud, y también -especialmente- por las irregularidades con el servicio eléctrico en la ciudad
Es complicado mantener una relativa normalidad bajo estas circunstancias, es decir querer hacer muchas cosas bonitas pero no poder, como en este momento -quería sentarme a coser un poco-; pero es en momentos como este cuando digo "well, tengo mi blog en Hive y comunidades chidas con iniciativas activas" y eso me ayuda mucho a pasar estas horas, porque escribir aquí equivale a terapia amigos ✋ 🩺 ❤️🩹

🇺🇸 ~ Hello everyone ~ 🧁 ☕ I hope you’re having a nice Saturday. I’m feeling happy because I’m getting back into the swing of things with many of the extra activities I enjoy doing, but which I had to put on hold for a while recently due to health issues—and also, especially, because of the power outages in the city(In fact, the power just went out at 1 p.m., and we figure it’ll be back between 5 and 6 p.m., God willing) It’s hard to maintain a sense of normalcy under these circumstances—wanting to do lots of fun things but not being able to, like right now—I wanted to sit down and do a little sewing—; but it’s in moments like this that I say, “Well, I have my blog on Hive and cool communities with active initiatives,” and that really helps me get through these hours, because writing here is like therapy, friends ✋ 🩺 ❤️🩹
So this is my entry for the “Ladies of Hive Community Contest #281” hosted by the Ladies of Hive, whose questions this time are courtesy of 💞 @jane1289 💞
✦ "Do you prefer working from home or going to the office? Why?" ✦
Salir de casa implica una inversión de recursos, principalmente de energía y tiempo, porque ir a la oficina significa arreglarte, el cuidado en la apariencia toma tiempo (ropa bien planchada, peinado y maquillaje adecuados), también debes llevar siempre un bolso contigo con todo lo que puedas necesitar fuera de casa, ¡y el almuerzo!, debo cocinar un menú extra que sea saludable y no se deteriore con el paso de las horas, y preferiblemente que no necesite calentarse.
Y en el tema de seguridad, dependiendo el país donde residas quizá puedas entenderme; ir a la oficina y cumplir un horario significa estar afuera expuesta, y en un ambiente socio-político inestable donde pueda presentarse algún altercado en la vía publica, volver a casa puede significar toda una odisea. ¡Me pasó más de una vez!, afortunadamente siempre conté con amigos o familia que me recibieran para quedarme hasta el día siguiente cuando todo se calmara.

For safety and efficiency reasons, I prefer working from home. Leaving the house requires an investment of resources, mainly energy and time, because going to the office means getting ready—taking care of your appearance takes time (well-ironed clothes, proper hairstyle, and makeup)—and you also have to carry a bag with you at all times containing everything you might need while away from home, and lunch! I have to cook an extra meal that’s healthy and won’t spoil over time, and preferably doesn’t need to be reheated.
And on the topic of safety, depending on the country where you live, you might understand what I mean; going to the office and sticking to a schedule means being out in the open, and in an unstable socio-political environment where public disturbances can occur, getting home can be quite an ordeal. It’s happened to me more than once! Fortunately, I’ve always had friends or family who would take me in so I could stay until the next day when things calmed down.

✦ "Do you think working from home will improve your work-life balance? How?" ✦
En mi opinión y experiencia, si tienes capacidad de autogestión y tus límites personales bien establecidos, por supuesto que puedes lograr un saludable equilibrio entre tu vida personal y el trabajo desde casa.
El tema con el trabajo desde casa es que las cosas pueden salirse rápidamente de control y volverse un caos si no entiendes y dejas muy claro a todo tu entorno -en caso que no vivas sola- que trabajar desde casa no es "una comodidad", es "una modalidad", y por tanto sigue siendo un trabajo formal y estricto, con todas las responsabilidades que eso significa pero también con su horario de salida y momentos de desconexión.
In my opinion and experience, if you’re self-disciplined and have clear boundaries, you can definitely strike a healthy balance between your personal life and working from home.
The thing about working from home is that things can quickly spiral out of control and turn into chaos if you don’t understand and make it very clear to everyone around you—if you don’t live alone—that working from home isn’t “a convenience,” it’s “a work arrangement,” and therefore it remains a formal and demanding job, with all the responsibilities that entails but also with set end times and moments to disconnect.
Ahora, si trabajar desde casa mejorará o no el equilibrio entre tu vida personal y laboral depende mucho del tipo de funciones que desempeñes y el horario que has aceptado, hay que admitir que hay trabajos que por su naturaleza y horarios peculiares son irreconciliables con aspectos de la vida personal, como lo es la atención a la familia, a la pareja, a los pasatiempos o a tus horas de descanso.
Depende mucho de cada persona, de la cultura, modo de vida, personalidad y necesidades, pero en mi caso he encontrado que el trabajo a distancia sí me ha favorecido en cuanto al tiempo y dinero que puedo dedicarle a otras cosas.
Por ejemplo, se ha traducido en más horas de descanso, menos inversión en ropa ejecutiva, rutinas mas ligeras, una sensación de control y seguridad mayor en la distribución y uso de mi tiempo, pero principalmente ahorro de recursos. Es lo que puedo compartir desde mi experiencia 🐜 🎀 ✨
Now, whether or not working from home will improve your work-life balance depends largely on the type of duties you perform and the schedule you’ve agreed to. It must be acknowledged that some jobs, due to their nature and unusual hours, are simply incompatible with aspects of personal life, such as spending time with family, your partner, pursuing hobbies, or getting enough rest.
It depends a lot on each person, their culture, lifestyle, personality, and needs, but in my case, I’ve found that remote work has indeed benefited me in terms of the time and money I can devote to other things.
For example, it has meant more time to rest, less money spent on business attire, simpler routines, a greater sense of control and security in how I manage and use my time, but mainly savings. That’s what I can share from my experience 🐜 🎀 ✨

Thanks, sweetie. So far, this setup is working out well for me. Sometimes I miss the office atmosphere, but I prefer the safety of my home with my family. I hope you're doing well—it's always so nice to hear from you 💓

En mi caso siento que el trabajo desde casa es una comodidad porque incluso cumpliendo horario puedo hacer mis articulos desde mi cama en pijama, además en caso de ser el unico trabajo, tampoco hay que lidiar con el transporte público entre otras cosas que hacen cómodo el hecho en sí
Lo de workear en pijama es tan cierto jajaja yes ~ 💙
Sigo sosteniendo que el trabajo remoto es superior. Si tienes la oportunidad de que tu trabajo se puede hacer de forma remota, tómalo y no lo sueltes.
el transporte publico es horrible y un gasto de plata, invertir en ropa que no puedes usar de diario, lo mismo, y comida recalentada, que a veces ni recalentada, solo fría, y si le sumas el mobbing y la inseguridad en el traslado, bueno, todo mal.
Aunque lo que mencionas de lo del entorno es verdad y lo habia olvidado; antes, si tenia que trabajar bien tarde, cuando lo demás dormían, porque mi familia no entendía que mi trabajo era remoto.
De acuerdo contigo en todo Fabby (estoy viendo tu post y omg, tu sí que puedes hablar del tema de primera mano!) 👏 👏 👏
