Plenty of tropical passion on Beer Saturday 442

Hello Hivians and all you beer lovers.

It's Saturday, which means it's #beersaturday, not that you need an excuse to drink a beer of course! Today though is a new beer.

I do most of grocery shopping online at least for the heavy and bulky items.

Last time I was ordering from Sainsbury's and one of the recommendations they bombard you with at the checkout was for this beer which was on special offer for less than £2. I think it was £1.50 and I was not too sure about it so only clicked on add 1 to my basket!

Well today, I fancied having that beer!

Tis the Christmas Season but Summer Edition!

image.png

I do like Mango and quite like Passion Fruit. The label does say Hints Of ... so I was expecting you to still taste the Pale Ale.

Taste The Difference

Taste the Difference is Sainsbury's own range but meant to tastier or higher quality or so I belive.

That being so, I thought the beer would be tasty!

image.png

According to the label...

a perfect ale to enjoy during the summer months.
Serve lightly chilled. Pairs well with BBQ food such as burgers and hot dogs.

image.png

It will go with food, nae bother thought I and knocked up some baby food to have with the beer...

The baby food being some mashed potatoes, brocolli and chicken fillets.

My thoughts

Initially I was surprised. I do like an IPA with citrus fruit, but I found this too fruity and not beery.

It was a mix that did not go well!

One hour later ...

I made a coffee to see if I could finish the beer 🤣

  • It is brewed with Challenger, Goldings, WGV, Cascade, and Amarillo hops.
  • It is brewed and bottled by Hall & Woodhouse in Dorset, England.

According to the label ....

PALE ALE WITH TROPICAL FLAVOURS

  • Origin - Blandford Forum, Dorset
  • Style - Pale Ale
  • Taste- Tropical, Mango & Passionfruit notes
  • This refreshingly fruity flavoured pale ale is an easy drinking beer brewed using Challenger, Goldings and WGV hops.
  • Subtle hints of tropical mango and passionfruit makes this a perfect ale to enjoy during the summer months.
  • Serve lightly chilled. Pairs well with BBQ food such as burgers and hot dogs.
  • Nutrition: Typical values per 100ml: Energy 156kJ/37kcal.

That's a pretty looking beer! Pale Ales are usually lower down on the list for me, but the fruitiness of this one might work for me.

I always pay attention to beer for €1.71, especially if it's a Pale Ale. Cheers! 🍻

Ohoo, the inly Thing I can relate here was that doing shopping online. Sometimes they are much cheaper coz of the discount voucher. Anyways, that drink looks awesome. Sad I can't even imagine how it would taste because I haven't tried beer haha

I wiish I could find some quality beer around here. Guinness is about high end as it gets. There are no micro breweries close by or anything like that. There may be some aross the river with hte whiskey distilleries, but not around where I live. I am super thristy for a goood cold brew now.

I'm not a fan of mixing beer with fruit or anything like that; I'm more traditional... But it does bring a little sunshine to the heart of winter, doesn't it? I'm going to open a few NEIPAs to get ready for the festivities, which haven't started yet.

Have a great Sunday... Cheers

I am sober right now but man that beer looks tasty! I am more of an IPA person myself but I love a nice Pale Ale!

That one is on the lower end of on the ABV scale so maybe that was why it was too fruity!

Either way, always nice to enjoy a new brew. I hope the coffee was good at least!
