CONTENIDO EN ESPAÑOL

¡Hola a todos los integrantes de esta comunidad y amantes de la escritura creativa! Luego de ponerme a coser un rato, estuve pensando qué podría publicar el día de hoy y revisando, me di cuenta de que estuve a punto de quedarme por fuera en el concurso, pensaba que ya había publicado esta semana 😅 así que, veamos que surge tras ver la fotografía.

Siempre me ha aterrado la idea de vivir cerca de un lugar con agua. Creo que mi miedo hacia las grandes concentraciones de agua comenzó en mi infancia, la vez que el instructor de natación me lanzó a la piscina en mi primer y último día de clases. Aquel miedo se intensificó durante una catástrofe natural que ocurrió en mi país y las fuertes lluvias causaron inundaciones, así como perdidas humanas y damnificados. A pesar de que vivía en un lugar apartado y no nos afectó para nada, el fuerte sonido de la lluvia en el techo y las noticias, me asustaron lo suficiente para temerle a la lluvia intensa aún en el presente.

Después de todo, crecí con las palabras de mi madre "Nunca es bueno vivir cerca de ríos" y al leer o ver noticias de personas que perdían sus hogares por vivir tan cerca de lugares por donde pasaba un río, me hizo darme cuenta de que tenía razón.

Por eso, cuando fui a visitar a un amigo que vive cerca de un puerto, quedé entre maravillada y aterrada al darme cuenta de que tenía enfrente la vista del mar. Deduje que no podría vivir allí jaja de sólo pensarlo, me daba miedo y a pesar de que contemplaba maravillada el paisaje de los barcos llegando al puerto, me aterraba mirar por la ventana de noche y observar la oscuridad del mar extendiéndose hasta el horizonte.

Aunque, comprendo los beneficios que se tiene al vivir en sitios así, pues hay lugares en donde se puede pescar o como en casa de una de mis amigas, donde la tierra era tan fértil que podía plantar cualquier cosa y crecía frondosamente, sin mencionar lo hermoso que era pasear y de pronto hallarle con el agua cristalina del río fluyendo a tus pies.

Bien dicen que los signos de tierra preferimos estar en lugares secos. Puedo ir a la playa, al río o un lago, para bañarme o simplemente contemplar el ambiente, pero vivir ahí, definitivamente no es algo que me gustaría.

Hello to all members of this community and lovers of creative writing! After sewing for a while, I was thinking about what I could post today, and while checking, I realized that I almost missed out on the contest. I thought I had already posted this week 😅 so, let's see what comes up after seeing the photograph.

I've always been terrified of living near water. I think my fear of large bodies of water began in childhood, the time the swimming instructor threw me into the pool on my first and last day of lessons. That fear intensified during a natural disaster in my country when heavy rains caused flooding, resulting in loss of life and many people displaced. Even though I lived in a remote area and we weren't affected at all, the loud sound of the rain on the roof and the news reports frightened me enough to still fear heavy rain.

After all, I grew up with my mother's words, "It's never good to live near rivers," and reading or seeing news reports of people losing their homes because they lived so close to rivers made me realize she was right.

That's why, when I went to visit a friend who lives near a port, I was both amazed and terrified to realize I had a view of the sea right in front of me. I figured I couldn't live there, haha, just thinking about it scared me. And even though I gazed in wonder at the sight of the ships arriving at the port, I was terrified to look out the window at night and see the darkness of the sea stretching to the horizon.

However, I understand the advantages of living in places like that. There are places where you can fish, or like at one of my friends' houses, where the land was so fertile that you could plant anything and it would grow lushly. Not to mention how beautiful it was to take a walk and suddenly find the crystal-clear water of the river flowing at your feet.

It's true what they say: earth signs prefer to be in dry places. I can go to the beach, the river, or a lake to swim or simply enjoy the scenery, but living there is definitely not something I'd like.
