(ENG/ESP) 🏠✨ Ladies of Hive Community Contest #255: Small or big house? / ¿Casa pequeña o grande? 🏠✨

ENGLISH CONTENT

Hello to all the women in this community! As always, I’ve managed to keep myself busy doing a lot of things without having to leave the house, which has led me to realize that the days fly by and I don’t have enough time for everything I want to do. Doesn’t that happen to you? 😅 Still, I always like to read the questions for the weekly contest, to see if they resonate with me and in this round #255, one of the approaches feels like a perfect fit for me, since it’s something I’ve experienced and am experiencing... well, similar.

🏠✨ You've earned the money to buy a house, and you have two options. The first is a big, beautiful house, but one whose best years are behind it. It needs a lot of repairs and remodeling, and therefore its price is low. The second option is a small house. It's not as beautiful as the previous one, but you don't have to invest time or money in repairs so its price is much higher than the previous one. What do you choose? Are you on the "repair to my liking" team or the "buy everything ready and fast" team? 🏠✨

Currently, I'm living in a small apartment with my three siblings. But a couple of years ago, that wasn't the case. We lived for over a decade in a fairly large house, with enough land to build a house next to it or on top of it. Suffice it to say that wasn't just my parents' idea, but also to build a pool, haha.

But unfortunately, the house needed a lot of repairs, and over time, its appearance began to deteriorate. Future plans faded, so we just lived there, unable to exploit the land's potential. However, many of the neighbors began to remodel their homes after their children left the country and began sending money to their parents. That's how we began to see how houses similar to ours, or in worse condition, ended up becoming majestic, and one even had a pool, haha.

We ended up moving because we wanted to live in a space without the leaks or electrical issues that the big house had, which made living there somewhat stressful. But where we are now doesn't have nearly the space that that place had. For me, who's used to taking on a large space when sewing or doing a large craft project, space can be limiting, and the same goes for storage, because there simply isn't enough room. Still, I've managed to not be held back by it.

That way, I think if I had enough money, I would remodel the big house from scratch, because there's nothing better than having enough space to do your activities and have everything just the way you like it. Now, if it were just for me, I wouldn't have any problems with the small house with everything set up, because with a bedroom, one for my things, the kitchen, the bathroom, and a small workshop, I'd be happy haha. So in my case, the most influential factor is whether I have to share that house. After living alone for a while, I've learned to appreciate it. I believe I need my space, where I can lock myself away and spend hours sewing without disturbing others with noise or singing without problems.

Living alone gives you five comforts in a small space you can achieve, of course having the workshop organized

That's right. Since I've been living alone for a while, I've found comfort even in a small room, haha. Although, I'm one of those people who has their "order amidst the clutter." I often lose things if I move them, because I forget where I put them and only remember the previous place where they were. 😅 Thank you so much for visiting my post, for commenting, and for the support you've given 😌💚

I see why you like a spacious place :) Having your own workshop where you can move freely.

Personally, I prefer a smaller, cozy house, especially since it's just me, the hubby, and our LilGuy.

Yes, when I lived in the big house I didn't worry about space when doing my things 😅 I also like the idea of a small place, but it depends on who I share it with, as you mentioned, your family must have a pleasant living dynamic hehe Thank you very much for reading my post and for commenting! 💚
