In a sphere (world) where everyone work so hard to stand out, I see myself in a peculiar position. A lot of times people say "You're so cute!" or "You have this charm about you." And while all these compliments are nice, they leave with cognitive dissonance to think what it meant "cute" in the first place. Cuteness is subjective, a mix of looks, personality, and the way someone carries themselves.

I have my own curiosity , my own way of smiling, my own way of laughing at things that others might not find hilarious . And that's okay. What's not okay is comparing myself to others based on this resemblance idea of "cuteness." There are people who aren't deemed "cute" by societal standards but have amazing talents, amazing personalities, or bring so much joy to those around them in different ways.

Being "not cute as me" doesn't reduce anyone's value. Everyone has their peculiar attributes, their strengths, their stories. Some people might be ridiculous , others might be intense, and still others might be meek and collected. Each of these traits adds to the resemblance of human experience.

So, being "not cute as me" is not a derogatory. It's just a statement of difference. And differences are what make the world interesting. We don't all have to fit into one mold of what's considered "cute" or attractive or charming. We can just be ourselves, in all our varied and wonderful forms.
