A sign of life from the hospital

Where to begin..

On my Sunday morning walk two weeks ago i came home with a little cramp in my belly , I thought muscle pain we will get over it.

A week later it was still there so instead of taking Paracetamol I moved to Ibbruprofen and then we got a fever so on Thursday I called the doctor for a checkup.

And all of sudden things went very fast...

At 8:40 we arrived at the doctor's office , did some basic checks for infections..

And those values where way to high above 180.

So the doctor called the chirgin at the hospital to negotiate om how to move on from here.

At 9:30 we arrived at the Emergency Room, they needed more blood samples . Not really my hobby and then wanted another another needle in my arm for contrast fluid with ct scan.

The scan was a new experience not unpleasant. However the results of the scan were les funny.

Meanwhile it was around 11:00 when we got called to discuss the results .

We got to see the ct scan so we where able to see based on what the decisions were made.

The appendix had to get out , it had grown overtime five times its original size.

At 13:00 I entered the Operation room and I woke up again at 16:30 .

Then they moved me around 17:00 to this room.

And today is day4 at the hospital , so far I know that I,m not allowed to drive the car for two weeks and full recovery will take up to six weeks.

So no Aachen Summit for me.

So this me this morning at 05:30

My bed and all the extras

The inner garden of the hospital.

Overview of the room.

That is all for now.

I also had an emergency operation for acute appendix last year, was in serious pain and I rushed to the hospital the following day, after scanning the doctor said there was no going back home, it was an emergency.

So I understand how you are feeling, wishing you a quick recovery

Oh no. I hope you will be recovering soon. I hope you will get better and we will see those good photos.

I am glad the doctors were able to tell what is wrong fast enough, even though needles are not your favourite. Yet, it is better to have them, rather than having more pain later.

Entspannte Genesung wünsch ich 👍🏽 Be thankful that it was „just“ the appendix and not an alien 😜 nor a heart problem. All will be good 🌻

Oh man, that's unpleasant. But good that you reacted in time and they got it out.
Best wishes for a speedy recovery. Try to get some rest, not easy in a hospital, I know.

The important thing now is that you recover and follow the instructions. There will be more meetings later. The main thing is your health, and then there will be beautiful walks and spectacular photographs! Big hug!

Oh yeah, I also am going through some major health scares, but one just has to endure.
I hope that you will soon be up and around again. Just take things easy and stick to the doctor's instructions.

I had emergency appendix removal some years ago too. But they kicked me out of the hospital a day after the surgery.
You'll be just fine :) Good nothing worse happened.

Why don't they want you to drive? I had my whole colon removed, and they kicked me out of the hospital after a couple days, with absolutely no restrictions.

Of course, the pain limited what I could do...

Sure, if you're in an accident, which could rip open wounds even if you were healthy!

Hi, I'm sorry that you got sick and that you have to spend the six weeks of resposo.
But the important thing is that they discovered the process and gave it a solution, so in a short time, you will be strong and healthy again.
Take advantage of the time to rest, read and enjoy the house and the family.
Always try to see the positive side of things.
Best wishes, may you heal and be active soon.

Get well soon, @stresskiller

Not a pleasant thing that your appendix decided to mess up the things a bit, but great that it was so quick since you got to the emergency room! I wish you a quick and complete recovery

I just read the story. Well... you took the right decisions. Being in your shoes I think I'd postpone visiting the doctor till the last bearable minute... which - appendix hints - is not the wisest thing to do, heh... 😳 well, a good thing they can handle it well. Happy end!
