I really love streetlamps in public spaces. I think they’re a reflection of the identity of the places where they stand—from the oldest ones with ornaments and decorative flourishes to the simplest and most modern designs. Streetlamps feel like portraits of cities and towns. I especially admire those with Art Nouveau-inspired details, evoking natural elements. I believe streetlamps aren’t just for lighting—they’re also there to guide the path of passersby. I took this photo some time ago and saved it for the perfect moment to share. I think this streetlamp looks beautiful in black and white, contrasted against the clouds in the sky.

Me gustan mucho las farolas en la calle. Creo que son una muestra de la identidad de los lugares donde se encuentran—desde las más antiguas con ornamentos y decorado hasta las más simples y modernas. Las farolas parecen un retrato de ciudades y pueblos. En especial me gustan las que tienen adornos que recuerdan al Art Nouveau, con elementos naturales.
