Simple Memories ~ Entry for the Shadow Contest/SMASh. [ENG/ESP]
Hello friends and community, I'm back as every week, and I've been on a good streak without missing an edition of Shadows Hunter. I can't express how happy I am to always participate. But to not break the habit, I first want to wish you a nice day and thank you for being here on my blog. Each week I try not only to bring a photo but also a small review, phrase, idea, or story about the object and the shadow I capture. I also have to confess that I spend the week looking at shadows and sometimes I accumulate a few. When I saw today's photo, for a moment I doubted having something to tell, because it's such a common, simple object, but when I started thinking, my memories made me realize that something simple is still important. Today: a clothespin.

The photo I share with you today is very simple. It is a photograph of some clothespins, placed on a line and against the wall, where their shadow is projected, the photograph in absolute black and white with great contrasts. When I saw the shadow, I was very happy because I think it is a good photograph. The problem came when I thought about what I would write this week about it. At first glance, there isn't much to write about some simple clothespins; they aren't even holding any clothes at the moment I took the photograph. That's when, facing my blank draft (the one I'm writing now), I tried to remember, and indeed many memories came back, especially from my childhood, related to clothespins. In my country and specifically in my area, they have a different name from other areas; they are called 'palito de tender' (I think the most literal translation into English would be 'little hanging stick'), and in my childhood it was very common to hear street vendors selling household products shout: 'The little hanging stick at a good price!' And every week we had to buy because for some reason the goblins would end up taking it from the clothesline. I also remember that after washing the clothes and sheets, they were all hung out in the sun. It was a simpler and more modest time when, despite the hardships, I was very happy. When the sun did its work, it was time to take in the laundry, and the best part was playing with the clothespins and putting them on my fingertips like claws, and if for some reason I broke one, I would make the evidence disappear. And so, in this way, a simple photo of some clothespins awakened thousands of childhood memories one after another, and with those memories I write this text, with these memories and a big smile. I hope you like this week's story and the photograph. I encourage you to participate and share your shadow photos, and if you dare, also your memories. A big greeting and, as always, all the luck and success in the world. Bye bye.
Chau chau.

A simple clothespin.
But I looked at the photo and also thought about my childhood and youth.
I am 56 years old. I haven't seen such wooden clothespins for a long time. But in my childhood, it was not a simple clothespin; we even made a small crossbow out of it.
Now, many of these things are made of plastic, and I don't have such a simple clothespin next to me.
