Shadows of Devotion – Gaming Photography Contest Entry
Hello friends and community, today I want to share my photographs from one of the most charming and at the same time unsettling games in the world, Cult of The Lamb. It is a game that unites cute and kawaii aesthetics with worlds of sacrifice and devotion. What attracts me the most about this game is precisely the combination of these aesthetic elements, because they create a unique atmosphere that gives that sensation I would describe as, it looks cute but it feels scary.

I have tried to gather different moments within this disturbing universe, where the faith and fear of the devotees that so define the sects are reflected. Examples such as the ascent, the blind loyalty of the followers, and the inevitable confrontation with rival gods and demons. Something very interesting about this game is its photo mode, where you can play with different angles, filters, and zoom in or out on the image, as well as move around the stage and dungeons.

In the game you start as the lamb, who after being saved is transformed into a deity with the objective of overthrowing gods and demons that have taken control of the world, but to extract the necessary energy you will need devotees, people who give you their energy and that you can use and sacrifice at will, both to give yourself more power and to make the cult grow. The path of the cult will be affected by your decisions and by how cruel or benevolent you are with your followers. Each devotee also has their own tastes and traits that affect not only themselves but the entire cult, even making them lose faith.

Little by little as the cult grows the needs and abilities of the followers also grow, from producing more faith in less time, working in farms and mines, becoming battle assistants or simply going out to explore in search of useful resources.

I share with you a photo of my entire cult, as you can see there is a great variety of types and designs of characters, each one has its own name, and they also show their needs such as hunger or sleep in alerts so that you, as the leader, can attend to them on time and prevent them from affecting their performance or that of the others.

In the universe we will also find a series of unique animals that help us in different ways, from giving us unique items, allowing us to gamble with them for coins, obtaining decorations for the cult, or kidnapping characters that will serve us as followers.

I really enjoyed taking this photo, because it shows that the drawing style, even though it looks simple at first glance, can transmit that sadness and desperation of being in the middle of a lost battle, in a forest that appears silent and lonely, with hostile nature and corpses everywhere.

In the middle of a long corridor, in the middle of the night we find ourselves together with our small companion, a follower transformed into a demon helper, ready to face the boss of this dungeon, even so our face shows peace and tranquility, despite the deaths and the blood.

The pentagram is our means of transport; it not only takes us to the dungeons where we must fight room after room until we reach the current boss, but it also takes us to areas where the allies and the different minigames are located.

The underwater landscapes full of humanoid fish and floating corpses among algae and bubbles cannot be missing in this game, giving it an aesthetic filled with terrifying blue tones. I really like the design of the fish characters in this game.

I share with you a selfie of the main character, who would think that this fluffy little lamb spills blood with all kinds of weapons and without changing its face of tranquility.

At night while our followers sleep I take the opportunity to cook some dishes of food, clean what is dirty and repair what is broken, I am a leader of a sect with many responsibilities.

An expanded view of our sect and all the territory we are occupying, always in expansion.

From the circle of invocation of the devotees I say goodbye, I hope you have enjoyed this visual journey through my playthrough of Cult of The Lamb, it has been a pleasure to share with you a little of this story, as always all the success and luck in the world, bye bye.
