Today, I want to share with you my latest fan art inspired by the beautiful character Kiara Lightbringer. This is the second time I've featured her as the protagonist in my drawings. Hoy les quiero compartir mi último fan art, inspirado en ese bello personaje que es Kiara Lightbringer. Es la segunda vez que la tengo como protagonista en mis dibujos. Kiara is the daughter of summoners and the youngest of Lightbringer and Natura’s two daughters. She is also the youngest summoner in history. She is known for her pastel pink hues and the rainbows that decorate her weapons.

I will use an image from the Splinterlands wiki as a reference, and for my work, I’ll be using Photoshop as my main tool. Little by little, I’ll sketch a portrait and gradually add details.

It absolutely had to reflect their golden, curly hair, since it's such a defining feature of the character. Next is their headband—like many elements of their outfit, it uses the rainbow as a symbol that connects and grounds the character. So I'll create that rainbow as well, but in a more realistic style. The lighting on the character will come from left to right. And here’s where the idea struck me: instead of traditional light, the character could be struck by a rainbow that reflects airborne particles and merges with them.

With the sketch and linework ready, it’s time to add color to my drawing. I’ll use the reference colors but in brighter tones. I also have an idea for the lighting.

I'm using a new painting technique that involves working in blocks. First, I create a base color that resembles skin, and by locking that layer, I continue painting little by little in sections—solid colors on top of solid colors. Then, I repeat the same process over the colors to create lights and shadows. And although this style doesn't rely much on textures, I liked adding a few to highlight certain areas.

Estoy utilizando esta nueva técnica para pintar que consiste en pintar en bloques. Primero creo un color base que se asemeja a la piel, y bloqueando esa capa continúo pintando poco a poco por partes: colores sólidos sobre colores sólidos. Friends, I'm taking a moment to share my earlier fan art of Kiara Lightbringer—haha, I think it's pretty obvious she's one of my favorite characters! I'm sure she'll return to me many times and in different forms, so get ready. Seeing the old fan art side by side with the recent one makes me realize how much I've improved my drawing skills—especially anatomy and facial design. Although there are clear similarities between the two, the new one is much stronger. That said, I actually prefer the pose and outfit in the first drawing; maybe I'll redraw it someday, or create a new one where the sword I love makes an appearance. And the little bandage on the nose—something I added in the first version—is definitely something I wish I'd included in the second. So many ideas are swirling around!

Drawing Kiara Lightbringer for the second time was incredibly fun—not just because of the entire process behind it, but also for taking the concept a little further. I especially love how the rainbow turned out; I think it adds the exact touch needed to enhance the depth of a character with such a complex lore and uniquely crafted design.

Dibujar a Kiara Lightbringer por segunda vez fue muy divertido, no solo por todo el proceso detrás, sino por llevar el concepto un poquito más lejos. En especial, amo cómo quedó el arcoíris; creo que le da el toque necesario a la profundidad de un personaje con un lore tan complejo y un diseño tan único.
