Flower - Wallpaper Worth Pictures

Hello friends and fellow video game enthusiasts! Today I'm back, sharing some screenshots for the Gaming Photography Weekly Contest - Theme: Wallpaper Worth Pictures. This time, it's a video game that's a few years old, but since I played it, it undoubtedly marked a turning point for me, offering a completely different gaming experience. It's called Flower, a game that breaks with the traditional concept: there are no weapons, no enemies, and no scores. It's an interactive work where you simply embody the wind, and you're in charge of moving a group of flower petals across the screen. In this way, you'll discover part of this universe and gradually create your own story.

Flower seems designed so that every moment of the game becomes a perfect screenshot. It has the rare ability to convey peace, hope, and above all, a sense of renewal within the natural cycle. The music perfectly complements every movement on screen, and each petal floating in the air seems to be part of a whole beyond our comprehension. The game simply invites you to float and breathe, to contemplate the beautiful landscape, and try -just try- to understand what is happening. It is undoubtedly an experience that allows you to connect with nature.

The almost symbolic presence of power plants, the sun, and windmills helps us understand the environmental background of the game, and its need to highlight the importance of the forces of nature but above all their protection, it is not surprising then to start the game from a simple bud of a flower in a window frame.

For this contest entry, I chose Flower for all these reasons: every screenshot looks ready to become a wallpaper. Wind turbines, skies with colors ranging from the clearest blues to the darkest nights, passing through the reds of sunrises and sunsets. All beautifully designed and with that dramatic weight of the flowers floating around. There's undoubtedly a lot of artistic sensibility behind this game, a sensibility that transforms the everyday into something beautiful.

The game consistently showcases excellent compositions through low angles and the contrast between light and shadow, dynamically exploring the variety of each scenario.

I especially like how the skies are designed, as they are not simply there, but rather enrich the atmosphere.

The video game is composed not of levels, but of six landscapes, each with its own atmosphere and way of conveying emotions. Each setting seems to be a continuation or evolution of the interior, ranging from a tranquil green field to a tense urban landscape.

What struck me most when I started the game were the windmills, which are there as a blend of man and nature. They're not just decoration; they can be used as guides and as a spring for the petals. They seem to breathe with the air of nature. A symbol that human activity doesn't have to be separate from caring for nature, that both can exist in balance.
Well friends, I hope you enjoyed this blog and the screenshots I shared. I definitely recommend this game; it's a unique experience. I wish you a wonderful day and, as always, all the luck and success in the world. Bye!
