Coquille de Mer - Black & White Photography Round 155 [ENG/ESP]
Hello friends and community, this photograph I’m sharing today will be my participation in Black & White Photography Round 155. I hope you enjoy it, it’s a photograph I loved taking, and it’s part of the series of seashell photographs I’ve taken and have been sharing. All of these photographs have been captured in black and white.

I really like seashells, and I love how they embody that blend between the natural, the organic, and the mineral. Above all, I like sea shells, they are very beautiful and have such different shapes. The most interesting and perhaps most poetic thing about shells is that when their owner dies, that old house becomes new again for other species. I enjoy black and white in this photo, especially for the contrasts and details. I used a complete fade into black so that only the shell would stand out as the sole protagonist. The geometry and shapes of shells are beautiful. It’s wonderful to think that a bit of calcium carbonate, the same found in stones, can hold such beautiful lives and protect them from predators and the harshness of nature itself. They say that if you put a shell to your ear you can hear the sea, and it’s true. Even though it’s science and only resonance inside the spiral, I like to think it’s magic.
