Maybe it's difficult for the children to match with the seriousness.

The story starts with something totally unexpected. One of the teachers at the ninja school named Hansuke Doi vanishes after agreeing to a duel. This is what changes the entire situation. It’s not just a normal day at the school. The atmosphere suddenly turns into mystery and concern. Is it just normal disappeare or something darker? You can feel the tension from the very first scene. That tension drives the story.

This movie doesn’t only rely on old things. There are humor’s but it’s dialed back. You see students taking things seriously. Even the sixth-year students, who used to be more like background noise, are finally given proper screen time. They’re not just supporting characters anymore. They’re growing, and you feel their fear and determination.

I want to give a shootout to a character Tenki. What about his characteristics? He is cold, clever, and brings danger. But what makes him interesting isn’t just his power. His presence forces the characters we’ve known for years to step up. Especially Kirimaru,, we learn more about his past. About how deeply he respects Doi.

I really appreciated is the way the film handled its tone. Director Masaya Fujimori clearly wanted this to make different. And he is successful. He wasn’t afraid to include more realistic action scenes. The action sence is actually bold. It matches the story and reminds you, it is very important to have a good story.

The animation is old-school style, you you will love it. The split-screen shots during fights were very great. It makes the movie enjoyable with nostalgic flavour. What about the the music? Honestly, what I loved the fact that how the creators respected the original fanbase. They didn’t just make a kiddie movie. They acknowledged that fans have grown up.
