Anime Review ~ My Hero Academia: Becoming a Hero Hurts More Than You Think

Today I want to talk about anime which is one of my favourites. This is the type of anime which I will suggest to someone who's just starting with anime. If I tell you about my experience with My Hero Academia, it goes like this. Honestly, I didn’t expect My Hero Academia would be one of my favourite anime in the future. At first glance, it felt like the usual superhero anime. Where it's with kids who have powers and some cool outfits.
After starting to watch this, I realized it was way more than just powers and some cool outfits. This anime really shows us what it means to be a hero. To be a hero saving people is not everything, but the pain, fear, and weight of responsibility is also there. There’s something about Izuku Midoriya. I mean the journey that just stays with you. I couldn’t stop watching. His story made me think about my own struggles. There are some moments in our life when we all felt left behind compared to others. So if you’re curious, then keep reading.
Story Summary and My Review
My Hero Academia's story starts in such a world where superpowers are called quirks and it's completely normal there.
I mean about 80% of people get superpowers by being born in this world. If I give you some examples of superpowers, they are like someone who can fly, again someone can control fire. Heroes are basically treated as celebrities in this world. They save people, fight with the villains, and finally become the spotlight.
Now there is a twist. Midoriya, our main character, sometimes people call him Deku. He was born without a quirk or superpower. Very interesting, right? He’s just a normal kid. Whose heart is full of dreams and he has also a notebook full of hero facts. It felt really bad and heart touching watching him cry after getting bullied. He just wanted to be a hero like others. He’s intention isn't about to be cool, he just wanted to help people. I really felt sad seeing him this way.
Everything changes fast when he meets the number one hero. He's All Might. All Might sees something different in him. He offers his own quirk to him. But it’s not a gift. As like other gifts you just accept and move on. Midoriya has to train. The training is like hell just to be worthy of it. Even though he breaks his bones just to try using it. And I loved the fact that he doesn’t magically become strong overnight. He had to undergo a lot of pain and suffer to grow up and achieve something, which is really important for him. We can take a lesson with their determination.
We meet an entire group of classmates when he connects to U.A. High School. In school everyone has their own quirks, I mean the superpower. Moreover they all have their own stories and struggles. Bakugo, Todoroki, Uraraka, Iida.....honestly, they all felt so real and human. At the very first glance, Bakugo might seem like a bad person, but as the series goes deeper, we all understand why he acts that way. Again if I tell you about Todoroki’s family trauma...that really made me so sad.
The thing that really caught my attention, the anime balances fun, emotion, and action so beautifully. One moment you’re laughing during a school function, and the next moment you’re watching kids fight bravely for their lives. The League of Villains doesn’t play around. Especially if I talk about Shigaraki, first of all he’s terrifying. It's not because of his powers, but it's because of his mind. He doesn’t want fame the only thing he wants to tear everything down. It sounds dangerous, right?
If I talk about the animation, it was absolutely fire. I have no complaints about that. The visuals get more stunning when Midoriya goes full power or Todoroki unleashes both fire and ice. And the soundtrack also gives goosebumps. I still remember the musics that played throughout the whole anime.
The thing that caught my attention most was the emotions throughout the anime.
You can feel how hard these kids work, how scared they are. But they keep moving forward anyway. That’s the thing we expect from an anime hero.
In this part of my review, I won’t lie, honestly some arcs feel so slow. Some fights stay for longer than they should, so somehow it becomes boring. But I never felt like I could stop watching it. The characters grow by the time. You even start to feel sympathy for the villains. The way the show handles everything like pain, loss, and other things is really praiseworthy.
Recommendation?
If you’ve never watched anime before, according to me, My Hero Academia is the perfect anime to start with. Again, it's completely my opinion. Opinions can vary from person to person. But in this anime you got everything, there's action, emotion, school life, even comedy. This anime shows how hard it is to chase your dreams and keep going. So if you’ve ever felt low about yourself, give this anime a shot. Maybe it will surprise you.

À primeira vista, parecia o típico anime de super-heróis. Onde são crianças com poderes e algumas roupas legais.
Depois de começar a assistir isso, percebi que era muito mais do que apenas poderes e algumas roupas legais. Este anime realmente nos mostra o que significa ser um herói. Ser um herói não é apenas salvar pessoas, mas também lidar com a dor, o medo e o peso da responsabilidade. Há algo sobre Izuku Midoriya. Quero dizer, a jornada que simplesmente fica com você. Eu não conseguia parar de assistir. A história dele me fez pensar nas minhas próprias lutas. Há momentos na nossa vida em que todos nós nos sentimos deixados para trás em comparação com os outros. A história de My Hero Academia começa em um mundo onde superpoderes são chamados de quirks e é completamente normal lá.
Quero dizer que cerca de 80% das pessoas recebem superpoderes ao nascer neste mundo. Se eu te der alguns exemplos de superpoderes, eles são como alguém que pode voar, ou alguém que pode controlar o fogo. Os heróis são basicamente tratados como celebridades neste mundo. Eles salvam pessoas, lutam contra os vilões e, finalmente, se tornam o centro das atenções.
Agora há uma reviravolta. Midoriya, nosso personagem principal, às vezes as pessoas o chamam de Deku. Ele nasceu sem uma peculiaridade ou superpoder. Muito interessante, não é? Ele é apenas um garoto normal. Cujo coração está cheio de sonhos e ele também tem um caderno cheio de fatos sobre heróis. Foi muito triste e comovente vê-lo chorar depois de ser intimidado. Ele só queria ser um herói como os outros. A intenção dele não é ser legal, ele só queria ajudar as pessoas. Eu realmente fiquei triste ao vê-lo assim.
Tudo muda rapidamente quando ele conhece o herói número um. Ele é All Might. All Might vê algo diferente nele. Ele oferece seu próprio Alter para ele. Mas não é um presente. Como outros presentes, você simplesmente aceita e segue em frente. Midoriya tem que treinar. O treinamento é como o inferno só para ser digno disso. Mesmo que ele quebre os ossos só para tentar usá-lo. E eu adorei o fato de que ele não se torna magicamente forte da noite para o dia. Ele teve que passar por muita dor e sofrimento para crescer e alcançar algo, o que é realmente importante para ele. Podemos tirar uma lição com a determinação dele.
Encontramos um grupo inteiro de colegas de classe quando ele se conecta à U.A. High School. Na escola, todos têm suas próprias peculiaridades, quero dizer, superpoderes. Além disso, todos eles têm suas próprias histórias e lutas. Bakugo, Todoroki, Uraraka, Iida.....honestamente, todos eles pareceram tão reais e humanos. À primeira vista, Bakugo pode parecer uma má pessoa, mas à medida que a série avança, todos nós entendemos por que ele age dessa maneira. Novamente, se eu te contar sobre o trauma familiar do Todoroki... isso realmente me deixou tão triste.
A coisa que realmente chamou minha atenção, o anime equilibra diversão, emoção e ação de forma tão bela. Um momento você está rindo durante uma função escolar, e no momento seguinte está assistindo crianças lutarem bravamente por suas vidas. A Liga dos Vilões não brinca. Especialmente se eu falar sobre Shigaraki, em primeiro lugar, ele é aterrorizante. Não é por causa de seus poderes, mas sim por causa de sua mente. Ele não quer fama, a única coisa que ele quer é destruir tudo. Parece perigoso, não é?
Se eu falar sobre a animação, foi absolutamente incrível. Não tenho reclamações sobre isso. Os visuais ficam ainda mais impressionantes quando Midoriya usa todo o seu poder ou Todoroki libera tanto fogo quanto gelo. E a trilha sonora também dá arrepios. Ainda me lembro das músicas que tocaram durante todo o anime.
A coisa que mais me chamou a atenção foram as emoções ao longo do anime.
Você pode sentir o quanto essas crianças trabalham duro, o quanto elas têm medo. Mas eles continuam avançando de qualquer maneira. Isso é o que esperamos de um herói de anime.
Nesta parte da minha resenha, não vou mentir, honestamente alguns arcos parecem tão lentos. Algumas lutas demoram mais do que deveriam, então de alguma forma se tornam entediantes. Mas eu nunca senti que poderia parar de assistir. Os personagens crescem com o tempo. Você até começa a sentir simpatia pelos vilões. A maneira como o show lida com tudo, como dor, perda e outras coisas, é realmente digna de elogio.
Recommendation?
Se você nunca assistiu anime antes, na minha opinião, My Hero Academia é o anime perfeito para começar. Novamente, é completamente a minha opinião. As opiniões podem variar de pessoa para pessoa. Mas neste anime você tem tudo, tem ação, emoção, vida escolar, até comédia. Este anime mostra como é difícil perseguir seus sonhos e continuar. Então, se você já se sentiu mal consigo mesmo, dê uma chance a este anime. Talvez te surpreenda.
