Ladies of Hive Community Contest #263- A strong No can make a lot of difference

I would like to consider the first question
What do you consider to be the most important lessons that we should teach our children?

Besides education, children should be taught to withstand failures amidst success. To make them understand, life is not always, a bed of roses. Obviously, this should start from the very young age.

Not all their demands should have an yes. A strong "No" should also be understood and accepted by them. Now-a-days, children are studious and smart enough to achieve what they desire. Sadly, it won't be the same everytime.

For instance, a student standing in first position in her class for years, might have a fall in another year, which she might be unable to accept, resulting in anxiety and depression.

Ultimately her frustration grows keeping herself secluded, away from her family and friends. And a fraction of second, is enough to give her a second thought, losing herself to fear of losing her identify.

Circumstances where a child can handle situations independently should be appreciated. When something is at fault, as a parent, our role should be to correct them and guide them, rather than question them.

This inturn, will make the child a responsible person towards the society. He/she learns to differenciate between the good and bad, to take up responsibilities independently, to respect and finally, to move on with life amidst failure.

This week's question put forward ny @trucklife-family reminds me of painful memories of few children around my place, who sadly put an end to their beautiful journey of life, for silly reasons. And the most astonishing fact is all of them are college going students.
