Where It All Repeats – A Song Born in Stillness
It started with a walk. Nothing fancy—just a quiet step out into familiar woods where the land knows more than it says. I didn’t go lookin’ for a story. The story was already happening.
Somewhere between the pinecones and that cold mountain air, I looked up, and it hit me—the repetition. Tree after tree. Cone after cone. Breath after breath. It wasn’t boring. It wasn’t static. It was alive. And not alive in the way people usually mean. I’m talkin’ that kind of slow rhythm the earth moves by. The kind of repetition that feels like a pulse from something older than memory.
I took a photo. No setup, no framing, no drama. Just a moment standing still. That photo ended up in the Friendlymoose Photocontest under this week’s theme: Repetition.
That theme struck deep. Repetition ain’t noise. It ain’t laziness. It’s wisdom. It’s the land remembering itself.
And from that one click—this song was born.
“Where It All Repeats” is not just a track. It’s an offering. A thought in motion. A whisper passed down from the clouds, the river, the trees, and everything in between. I didn’t write this song to make noise. I wrote it to make silence louder.
The core of the song revolves around a repeating line:
“It’s always been this way.”
That line echoes through the whole piece—like the trees, like the mountain, like the way truth don’t change just because people stop listening. Every verse folds around that anchor, and every word is placed to feel like it belongs—like it was already there, waiting to be said.
I didn’t want a typical style for this one. I needed a sound that would honor the patience of the land. So I built it around something heavy—a slow, deep, sacred loop that never leaves. The instrumental is made to feel felt more than heard. It breathes with you, then beyond you. Think bowed glass, ancient bone tones, and an undercurrent like thunder rolling beneath stone. It’s heavy, still, but moves.
The inspiration for the song wouldn’t have sparked without that one contest post by @friendlymoose. That’s why this track is more than personal—it’s connected to community. These contests don’t just show photos. They show portals. Ideas. Stories waiting to wake up.
And for anyone who’s trying to create something, contests like this offer more than a chance to win—they offer the reason to pause. And in that pause, truth shows up.
This isn’t background music. This is stand-still-and-feel-it music. The kind you don’t hear unless you let it happen to you.
So here it is. A shoutout to the stillness. A nod to the mountain. And full respect to the rhythm that holds it all together.
And big thanks again to Friendlymoose for putting the idea out there.
