Beer Tasting 🍺 Küss die Hand Helles 🍺 Irish Craft IPA

Hello, beer lovers! 🍻

How are you? After a couple of days of winter’s last hurrah - it was snowing and windy just a few days ago - it’s very sunny today. I measured 21°C outside. Plus, the Christian holiday of Easter is coming up this weekend, just right for a break and a beer for #beersaturday 457.
Happy Easter with beer (and some eggs)! 😎

I have two bottles in front of me, one Croatian and one Irish. I’m ready to empty them and share the experience with you.

Let’s go!
First, the one with less alcohol.

🍻 😎 🍻

Küss die Hand Helles

Brewed by Pivovara Medvedgrad, Zagreb, Croatia.
Bottle, 0.5 l, alcohol 4.8% ABV, IBU 22. Bavarian Lager, Helles.

What do the Master Brewers say?

Küss die Hand (Kiss the Hand) evokes the culture of courtly manners in Zagreb during much of the last century. It was a customary greeting for ladies, offered by gentlemen of refined manners with a slight bow. Küss die Hand beer is a proper lager, expertly brewed in the traditional Bavarian style. It will demonstrate its fine character to every lager lover through its exceptional drinkability, delicate malt notes, and the subtle herbal character of noble hops.

I certainly wouldn't have come up with a name like that for a beer. I've already tried a few beers from this brewery. They were all very good. But we'll see what this kiss the hand is all about.

The beer has a clear yellow color, and the head is firm and long-lasting. It has no particular aroma. It goes down smoothly; on the palate, I first detect a slight sweetness from the malt, followed by hints of bitterness from the hops and subtle herbal notes.
All of this fades away in the aftertaste.

A very drinkable and refreshing beer, slightly sweet with a subtle herbal bitterness. It’s not too sweet, not too bitter, and not overly complicated like a craft beer, but rather a classic light lager brewed in the traditional Bavarian style. A very solid everyday lager that industrial lagers can’t hold a candle to.
Unfortunately, it’s not often available in local stores, or it sells out very quickly. Price: €2.00.

🍻 😎 🍻

Irish Craft IPA

Brewed by Rye River Brewing Company, Celbridge, County Kildare, Ireland, brewed exclusively for Lidl.
Bottle, 0.5 l, alcohol 6.0% ABV, IBU 51. IPA style.

What do the Master Brewers say?

This amber coloured ale, brewed with Vic Secret hops, gives an aroma of apricots, peaches, and tangerines, which is balanced by a sweet malt flavor. With a well-rounded mouthfeel, it is a perfect contender for any occasion.

🍺

The beer is a cloudy, light-brown, amber color; the head is average and fades quickly. It has a tropical fruit scent. It goes down smoothly; on the palate, I detect a pleasant bitterness and fruity notes of apricots and citrus.
A slight bitterness lingers in the aftertaste for a while.

A drinkable and tasty beer! A very mainstream, classic English IPA with a pleasant fruity aroma. Not too bitter, well-balanced with malt - a kind of “entry-level” IPA, suitable for those who don’t care for American fruity or hazy IPA versions.
I picked it up at Lidl, very affordable at €1.58. I might pick up a few more.

🍻 😎 🍻

And what am I listening to when writing this and tasting beer? Something from Friday's #newtunes. AI-generated experiment. I hate that it’s AI and that I like it :)

Greetings, friend! A beer is always a good option when it's hot, but not too many, because they can be harmful, haha. These ones you're sharing are new to me, and if I had to choose, I'd go with the first one, since it has a better color, and that's where the alcohol content comes into play. Even so, I'd try both. Which one would you choose?
