Beer Tasting 🍺 Bevog Deetz 🍺 Siren Broken Dream

Hello, beer lovers! 🍻

How are you?
Here we go again with the rain; it drizzles for a while, then stops. Then a few minutes of sun and wind to dry things out, followed by more spring rain. And so it goes all day. 🌧️🌦️

Luckily, today is #BeerSaturday, 454 in a row, so at least that’s something :) 😀

I have two cans in front of me, one Austrian and one English- they’re like night and day, completely different, and I’m happy to empty them and share the experience with you.

Let’s go!
First, the one with less alcohol.

🍻 😎 🍻

Bevog Deetz Golden Ale

Brewed by Bevog Brewery, Bad Radkersburg, Steiermark, Austria.
Can, 0.33 l, alcohol 4.8% ABV, IBU 27. Golden Ale style beer.

What do the Master Brewers say?

Bevog Deetz is a pure refresher. Its aroma of grapes, citrus, lime, passion fruit, fresh straw and light bready notes will make your nose and taste buds dance. It is extremely drinkable, playful and never boring. Whatever the weather, place or occasion it surely fits and on a warm sunny day it will show you why it was made in the first place.

🍺

I’m quite familiar with the Bevog Brewery — I’ve tried quite a few of their beers, and they’ve all been very good, if not excellent. This is also evidenced by the various awards and medals they’ve won.

The beer is light yellow in color, with an average head that fades quickly. It has a tropical fruit aroma. It goes down smoothly, with a slight hop bitterness coming to the fore along with grapefruit and citrus notes.
The aftertaste fades quickly.

A refreshing and light beer that combines tropical fruit with a subtle bitterness. Very easy to drink, I could easily have another glass. A solid choice for a hot summer day, or even a spring day.
Here, it’s available at some local stores - Mercator, Spar, Tuš - for €2.60. I’ll definitely have a few more in my fridge.

🍻 😎 🍻

Siren Broken Dream Nitro Breakfast Stout

Brewed by Siren Craft Brew, Wokingham, Berkshire, England.
Can, 0.33 l, alcohol 6.5% ABV, IBU N/A. Oatmeal Stout.

What do the Master Brewers say?

An indulgence of chocolate and speciality malts, our flagship stout is smooth, unctuous and moreish. It's brewed with lactose for balanced sweetness, along with carefully selected coffee. These cans are dosed with nitrogen in line for incredible mouthfeel. Awarded CAMRA Supreme Champion Beer of Britain 2018. Pour hard and fast for the full cascade effect.

🍺
This is a completely different beast than Deetz. Most likely incomparable. I can't wait!

The beer is black as night, with a creamy, brown head. It smells like coffee.
It goes down very smoothly; in my mouth, I taste the sweetness of dark chocolate and the bitterness of coffee, with equal hints of vanilla.
The bitterness lingers in the aftertaste for a while.

A highly drinkable and complex beer, very creamy, silky, and rich. The nitro makes the beer very smooth, reduces bitterness, highlights sweetness, and preserves its complexity.
Despite its high ABV, it’s very drinkable, perfect for cooler days or as a dessert. I wouldn’t drink it for breakfast, but I’d happily have a can or two of this stout in the evening.
It’s sometimes available at some local Spar stores, priced at €2.89.
I think this will be my favorite stout for quite some time :)🤓

🍻 😎 🍻

And what am I listening to when writing this and tasting beer? Something from Friday's #newtunes. A raw, organic, classic rock sound of the ’60s and ’70s.

Qué buena comparativa entre la frescura austriaca y la intensidad inglesa. El contraste entre los cítricos y el toque de café suena ideal para un día de clima tan variado. Gracias por compartir la reseña y la música.

Actually, I didn't want to compare them because it's not possible. The brewing process for each is completely different. I just want to present the taste experience.

Greetings, friend! Here in Venezuela, you can also find both types of beer—light and dark—and each one truly has a distinct flavor. The one you shared is the first time I've seen it, and what caught my attention was its alcohol content. That way, you can choose which one to drink depending on the day, haha. Without a doubt, the world of beer is vast.
