Bead Making My Life Changer

BEAD MAKING

I had learnt different skills before, but there is this particular one that stands out amongst all, Bead making. There's time in one's life when one discovers that they wanted more for themselves. This happened to me, when I found myself at home doing nothing. I am the type that loves learning new things, and when I do, I make sure I put in my very best to make it work.

MY LIFE BEFORE BEAD MAKING AND STRUGGLES

Before I thought of learning this skills, I depended on my husband completely for everything. He has been the one providing and I lack nothing, yet I'm not fulfilled. I wanted to be my own boss, to be financially supportive, I wanted to be useful to myself and to people around me. I will not achieve that by Sitting idle. A friend told me about a skill acquisition programme, without any hesitation, I jumped at the opportunity.

Then I had no children, so I had enough time to do whatever I wish. But the journey was not easy, transport fees were a huge problem. We were always given a take home assignments that had to be completed before the next day. Combining my bead training with house chores was another struggle for me, but I refused to give up because I am not done with my training. Every morning, I would attend the training and return home by 2pm.Though it was quite a distance, but I attended consistently for one full year and I graduated, I went for industrial training where I was taught one on one how to make bead properly for six solid months.

BENEFITS

Learning bead making changed my life in many ways. Financially, I no longer depends much on my husband. I now make enough money from bead making to cover at least 60 percent of my personal needs monthly. I can also support my husband in my own little way. I created job opportunities for some youths in my area as the are working for me so that I will meet up with the demands of those I supply in the market. I am no longer a full house wife but a working class woman that has value and skill.😀😀😀

IMPROVEMENT

When I first learnt bead making, my main focus was mainly on neck bead. However , not everyone likes wearing neck beads. As time went on, waist beads became the order of the day, especially among young ladies. I refused to remain stagnant and upgraded myself. I learnt the new style and follow the trend. Today waist beads are selling massively and I am making good money from it.

The experience of my bead making has taught me that if you really wants to last long in whatever business that you are doing, you need to upgrade, follow trends and improve your skills. These are what will help keep you relevant and profitable in your business.

Bead making has also taught me that a woman can rise from being idle to becoming industrious and impactful, it also taught me that anyone can create job opportunities only when we decide to learn a skill and grow with it. That is my journey on bead making, thank you for stopping by, see you next
