End of 21st Hivechess Season - Final Standings and Round 12 Recap

Hello everyone.
Finale of 21 Hivechess Season was played this Friday. 12th Round of the season, had traditional last round (as far as I recall) Swiss format. 5 + 0 time mode. Plenty time to win or make blunder and no time to spare if you are into long endgame.
Winner of final round was @maestroask. Second place @rosmarly and third place @justola1. Congratulations all.

Organization by @stayoutoftherz was top-notch. Build up leading Hivechess Season 21 with Lichess Liga Team Battle was spot on.

Last round was Swiss Tournament. Not particular fan of the this mode since the number of games are limited and I think my performance in general was not good in Swiss modes. This round was decent for me though. You will see lot of players with same number of points in standings and tie brakes are numbers you need to pay attention on. 9th place was good enough to stay on third place overall in Tournament 2.

Winning on time

Yes I did played rook takes c6 and walked straight into the fork.

@stranger27 (stranger27) was low on time and this time I won on time.

Open King
In this game @salomijale (summisineon1) did not manage to castle on time and I attack the middle. I used knight to attack since Rook and Queen on on good positions. Best move for white was to go for a forced exchange. I would have a bit more active Rook in the end.

Instead he moved Queen to c2 to most probably protect d1. And I went for a knight move forcing Queen sac.

One move and game changed. I went for a knight d2 threating checkmate and only move was Queen sacrifice to prolong the game. The ended here.
@salomijale had three game winning streak against me at this point. Nice game overall.

21st Hivechess season was fun. Good and bad moves and good and bad games through 12 round. It was nice to participate and play some chess.
