Eight Chess960 Hivechess Tournament Results
Hello everyone.
Eight Chess960 Hivechess Tournament results are here. Did not manage to post earlier. Participation was not great so I assume middle of the week does not work out. Since Lichess Liga is done this Thrusday we can fix the Chess960 tournament for the last Sunday of the month. Sunday and a new time 20:00 CEST (18:00) may be more convenient.
Lets start with the tournament results.
Winner of 7th Chess960 Hivechess Tournament is @maestroask (Odnoobraz_bcm). With almost perfect score /@maestroask
Hive account
@maestroask
second straight tournament win. And his third win total. Congratulations .
Second place goes to @hildemaro (hildemaro7). In his first appearance
@hildemaro managed to get second place. Congratulations on second place.
Third place for @eniolw (eniolw). Only one loss and win against this rounds winner. Congratulations.
Biggest upset reward is a bit tricky this time.@hildemaro played his first game in Chess960 variant so his rating is still not set. So we will go with two biggest upsets for this round and both include @hildemaro.
First reward goes to @rodrook (RDcast) for his win against @hildemaro
(around 380 elo points difference @hildemaro rating at the end was 1782)
Second reward for biggest upset goes to @hildemaro for his win against @eniolw (around 350 points difference - @hildemaro rating at the end was 1782)
Thats it for this round.@eniolw brought up that people paused in the middle of tournament. I assume since there was not many players people did not want to wait longer for the pairings. In my opinion with more players this should not be the case. Tnx for the feed back @eniolw

I sincerely congratulate those who excel at playing this chess version created by Fischer. I truly enjoy this variant and will be delighted to participate in future tournaments - I might even surprise some regular competitors, as I've been honing my skills. Consider this both a personal challenge and one for all chess lovers on Hive. This is your opponent warning you... I won't be so easy to defeat! Hahahaha...
Always welcome to have good opponent. Bring your A game next time.
Enjoy your day
Welldone!
tnx ;)
It is an interesting format, you know, Chess960 for a change. However, I noticed that in the middle of the tournament virtually all the players paused the tournament so it was impossible to play on and many of them were online. I get that some don't want to get paired for some reason, but I don't know why they consider that's how you play in a chess tournament. The small pool of players contributed to that too.
Will see how it goes with more players and we can set minimum games played for reward higher.
Have a nice day
