Turkish berries and dried sprats are two ingredients that bring unique flavors and nutrition to Sri Lankan cooking. Turkish berries are renowned for their medicinal value, especially for improving digestion and supporting overall health, while dried sprats provide a rich source of protein and essential minerals. When combined with spices, they create a wholesome and flavorful dish that is both satisfying and deeply traditional. Today, I have prepared this recipe.

🍃 Turkey berry 100g.
🍃 Dry sprats 50g.
🍃 1 Onion.
🍃 2 Green chili pods.
🍃 Curry leaves.
🍃 2 cloves of garlic.
🍃 1/3 Cup of coconut milk.
🍃 2 cloves of garlic.
🍃 Salt as needed.
🍃 1/2 Teaspoon of turmeric powder.
🍃 2 1/2 Teaspoon of crushed chili powder.
🍃 2 Tablespoon of coconut oil.
The order of preparation.
Step 1:-
First, we removed the stems from the turkey berries and cleaned the dried sprats. Along with that, we finely chopped the onion, green chilies, and garlic.
Step 2:-
Next, we took a pan and added two tablespoons of coconut oil. We placed it on the stove to heat, and once it started to warm up, we added the garlic, onion, green chilies, and curry leaves. Then, we allowed it to sauté for a while.
Step 3:-
Now, the cleaned dry sprats were added and mixed well. Then, crushed chili powder, turmeric powder, and the required amount of salt were added and combined thoroughly.
Step 4:-
Next, the turkey berries were added and mixed, allowing them to sauté for about 2 minutes. Then, a little coconut milk was added and cooked for another 2 minutes before removing the dish from the stove.
In this way, the Turkey Berry and dry sprats stir-fry is not only delicious but also highly nutritious, making it an excellent addition to any meal. With a perfect balance of flavor, texture, and health benefits, this recipe can be enjoyed with rice or as a side dish.
