PhotoFeed Contest - Macro Photography Round 132 ~ Dragonfly
Hello...
In the PhotoFeed Macro Photography Contest Round 132 hosted by @photofeed, I attempted to share a photo of a damselfly. The photo I shared shows a damselfly, a tiny insect known for its slender body, translucent wings, and graceful movements around water. Unlike the larger dragonflies we often see, damselfly has a more delicate, thin body and tends to rest with its wings folded parallel to its body.
Dragonflies generally live in areas near water sources such as rice fields, lakes, swamps, or riverbanks. Their presence is often used as an indicator of environmental quality because dragonfly larvae can only thrive in clean, pollution-free waters. Furthermore, dragonflies play a vital role in natural insect population control, particularly mosquitoes. Thus, their presence provides significant benefits to ecosystem balance.
The dragonfly's light movements, tiny, brightly colored bodies, and translucent wings that glisten in the sunlight are often seen as symbols of gentleness, freedom, and balance. In some cultures, dragonflies even symbolize hope and positive change.
That's all I can share for now. I hope you enjoy it. Thank you.
