What do you consider to be the most important lessons we should teach our children?

When we dream as little girls that we'll get married and have children when we grow up, we don't think about the lessons we should teach them; we're just girls copying models we've already seen.

I never received physical punishment, but I saw others receive it, and it simply didn't seem fair to me. So, as a lesson learned, I try never to hit my children, always talking to them, explaining the reasons, and I also ask them that when they have their own children, physical punishment is the last resort.

Never tell lies. I understand the need to hide things from parents and friends, and it's not easy. I'm someone who finds it very difficult to tell a lie; it's not that I can't do it, it's simply my last resort and the most difficult one. I particularly feel that lies lead us into a chain of complex events. Having the mental capacity to sustain all these reasons becomes complicated. Teaching children that, despite how harsh reality can be, lying complicates everything, making the situation even worse.

Leading by example is always one of the best lessons. We aren't perfect mothers, but we try to do our best.

We give our children the right tools, with basic lessons about what is wrong or bad, like not stealing or hurting others. These are very important lessons that they should learn from kindergarten. Bringing another child's toy home from school without knowing why requires life lessons and corrections. Fighting at school or being hurt by another child also requires them. Every parent takes different approaches to resolve these situations.

It's important that they don't get into trouble, but if they do, they should have the maturity to handle it and get out of it without hurting anyone.

Studying, working, and enjoying what they do in life should be the greatest lessons throughout their lives.

¿Cuáles consideras que son las lecciones más importantes que debemos enseñar a nuestros hijos?

Cuando soñamos de pequeñas que nos casaríamos y tendríamos nuestros hijos cuando fuéramos grandes, no pensamos en esas lecciones que debemos darles, somo simplemente niñas copiando modelos que ya hemos visto.

Nunca recibí castigos físicos pero si vi a otros recibirlos y simplemente no me parecían justos. Así que como lección aprendida en mi, trate de nunca pegarle a mis hijos, siempre conversando con ellos, explicándoles razones y así mismo le he pedido a ellos que cuando tengan a sus hijos el último recurso es el castigo físico.

Nunca decir mentiras. Comprendo la necesidad de ocultar cosas a los padres, a sus amigos y no es algo fácil. Soy una persona que se le dificultad mucho decir una mentira, no es que no pueda hacerlo, simplemente es mi última opción y la más difícil.
Particularmente siento que las mentiras nos llevan en una cadena de eventos complejos. Tener la mente para sostener todas estas razones, se vuelve complicado. Enseñarle a los hijos que a pesar de lo dura que puede ser una realidad mentir complica todo, aún más la situación.

Predicar con el ejemplo siempre es de las mejores lecciones, no somos madres perfectas pero tratamos de hacerlo mejor posible.

Uno le da las herramientas adecuadas a nuestros hijos, con las enseñanzas básicas de las cosas que son incorrectas o malas; como el no robar, no hacerle daño a otras personas. Son lecciones muy importantes, que deben aprender desde el kinder. Traer un juguete de otro niño de la escuela, sin saber la razón, requiere de lecciones de vida y correcciones. Pelear en la escuela o ser lastimado por otro niño también lo requiere. Cada padre toma diferentes medidas para resolverlo.

Es importante que no se metan en problemas, pero si ocurre deben contar con la madurez para solventarlo y salir de ellos sin lastimar a nadie.

Estudiar, trabajar y disfrutar de lo que hacen en la vida deben ser las máximas lecciones en el transcurrir de nuestras vidas.
