About music and clouds where I live | This is my contribution to the #funkyframefriday challenge
Hello, musical beings who enlighten us!
I confess I've been lost for several weeks. I find myself immersed in a bolero album, a jazz album, blues chords, some 1980s rhythm, and the silence hanging from the moon at night...
Each note vibrates in the wind like a hummingbird with a white flower between its wings. Thus, this new contest is here, brought to us by @powerpaul and the @hive-143104 community, coinciding with an invitation from @ernestopg to attend a concert by one of the most unique bands in our city.

@ernestopg was ultimately unable to attend, but I, who was hanging in the clouds, suddenly found myself on the Orange Moon, the place where the Ars Nova Early Music Ensemble would present its most recent album, Voces de América Virreinal, in a truly luxurious concert that allowed us to enjoy the reason why it had been awarded the prestigious Cubadisco 2025 prize, in the Chamber Music category.
Someone might say this has nothing to do with music made by a DJ. And then I ask: Can you imagine this kind of music accompanied by a DJ? Or the other way around? Accompaniment or dialogue, where the recorder, bassoon, trombone, oboe, violins, cello, or a soprano, tenor, and alto merge with contemporary music in unexpected ways… It would be interesting. Well, I'll keep telling you, and you'll see why I say this.

Ars Nova is a group celebrating its 20th anniversary. It was originally conceived as a quartet to perform repertoire associated with the recorder. Over the years, new members have joined, growing to the current number of fourteen, who remain constantly exploring the American colonial context, adopting a historicist musical practice, always from a contemporary perspective.

They move through the cultural fusion experienced in the New World, incorporating sounds offered by certain dialects, solo singing, the tonada, the villancico as a representative genre, instrumental uniqueness, as well as African rhythms combined in perfect symbiosis with European Baroque styles; elements that give them a unique identity within the Cuban music scene.

Throughout the evening, those in attendance were transported to countries like Spain, Mexico, Peru, Bolivia, Guatemala, and 17th- and 18th-century Africa, thanks to the masterful performance of eleven different songs that made up the stage.

The evening was magical, and time stood still until it all ended with continuous applause, as the audience and I stood, returning once more to my cloud, now with different rhythms in my hands.
Until the next concert, everyone, a hug of light!
