Ladies of hive. Contest#244: My Love for Plants and the Joy of a Garden

I prefer a house with a garden. There’s something peaceful about seeing green leaves swaying in the breeze and colourful flowers blooming under the morning sun. I love plants. They speak to me in a quiet way, reminding me of growth, patience, and beauty.

Taking care of plants is not just a hobby to me, it’s a form of therapy. It starts with knowing what each plant needs. Some love the sun, while others prefer shade. Some need watering every day, while others ask to be left alone for a while. So I try to listen to them. I touch the soil. If it feels dry, I water. If the leaves look pale, I find out what’s missing- maybe more sunlight, maybe new soil. I also add manure and fertilizers to make them healthy and help them yield abundantly.

For the love of plants, I even pleaded with my dad to create a little space outside just for me. I wanted somewhere I could plant flowers and other small things.

He agreed, and that little space quickly became my favourite corner of the house. That’s where I nurse some of my plants, watching them grow from tiny sprouts into full, healthy beauties.

One thing I love about having a garden is that I don’t have to buy everything from the market. Sometimes, I just step into the garden and pluck what I want- scent leaves, pepper, or even okra. It’s fresh, and it saves money too.

I prune the dead leaves, clean their pots, and sometimes I even talk to them. I’ve heard people say plants respond to love. I believe that.

I also make sure the garden looks neat. I remove weeds, sweep the fallen leaves, and arrange the pots where they can breathe. The more time I spend there, the more it feels like a part of me.

My dream house must have a garden, weather big or small, it doesn’t matter. As long as I can grow something in it, I'm alright. A place where I can watch things come to life. A space to think and breathe.

In the end, plants may not talk, but they surely teach. They teach patience.

Honestly I believe in what you just said plants though they do not speak, but they represent love, peace and patience. That's why most love couples like to stay in such place to express their loves.

And I love the patience they plants teaches . From planting the seed , u wait until it germinates and bear fruits and along the line , the nurturing teaches that effort must be played out before you see results

Nice plants and gardens u have there

If you hesitate to pick in your garden what you want, like those fruits for food, besides being fresh and saving money are great benefits of enjoying nature, I love the images, thanks for sharing,
