Saturday breakfast

Weekends are special days because you generally spend more time at home with your family after getting up a little later than usual on weekdays when the little ones go to school and those of us who are no longer children have other commitments and responsibilities to take care of.

A warm greeting to all the friends of this great Hive family. Today I'm sharing a delicious Saturday breakfast recipe with you; I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

Saturdays have something special because we extend Friday night a little longer than usual, and this Friday was special because it was Halloween night 🧙‍♀️, where everyone who wanted to celebrate in one way or another, did so.

Our boys dressed up and did their makeup so well that they'd be scary if they surprised you unexpectedly in a dark or dimly lit area of the house or its surroundings. We shared some candy and soft drinks after lunch, and then they went out for a while to surprise some of the neighbors. In short, they had a wonderful time and even played hide-and-seek with other boys who were also part of that night full of fantasy and mystery.

Finally, a little past midnight, they washed again to remove their improvised makeup that could compete with Michael Jackson's Thriller video clip, wow, I think I went too far.

This morning we woke up later than usual and with a ravenous hunger, and that's when we realized we didn't have any bread for breakfast. As always, it was time to improvise with what we had and what we thought of preparing at the moment.

Here's a description of the products:

Rice (in our case, it was already cooked the day before, just reheated)

Chicken mince made into meatballs

Cheese-flavored pellets

A sprig of basil

Tomato sauce sautéed with oil, garlic, chili pepper, and oregano

Lemonade frappe

I'm just leaving you with the photos so you can enjoy this delicious and healthy Saturday improvisation, while recommending that you vary your eating routines from time to time and not stay on rigid diets all the time, which sometimes limit the enjoyment of changes and new creations that are usually pleasing to most families.

Oh, I almost forgot to mention that the photos don't show the frappé lemonade cups we made while the table was being set with this delicious tasting.

Text and photos by me.
