Winners of Sketchquest March FINALLY!
Hey Draw a Day community and friends
Whoops the calendar says April, the March entries are still tucked away for our SketchQuest contest. Life has been a total whirlwind I recently spent seven wonderful, food-filled days exploring Taiwan with my family. It was exactly the reset I needed, though it definitely added to the delay of these results. Between navigating local markets and waiting for Hive images to finally load properly, it’s been a bit of a challenge for me. Thank you all for staying so patient and for keeping the community spirit alive while I was off making memories. Seeing these nine stories finally come together made me more hopeful and happier and I’m so excited to finally share them with you
Here are the winners:
All 9 entries have been received and evaluated based on Creativity (40%), Inspiration Story (30%), and Effort (30%).

1st Place: @artofkylin — Ghostly Kitty
Final Score: 96/100
Creativity (40/40): Simply beautiful. Taking a somber story of loss and transforming it into a comforting, glowing narrative where the kitten watches over its keepers is a nice creative storytelling.
Inspiration Story (28/30): Deeply moving. Connecting the lore of @cabalen to this visual representation creates a powerful emotional link.
Effort (28/30): The use of transparency and the soft, ethereal purple glow against the dark background shows great control over digital lighting hmmm something I need to learn myself.
Prize: 3 HIVE

2nd Place: @urbanwalker — Busy Night in the City
Final Score: 92/100
Creativity (36/40): Loved the vibrant energy capturing the loudness of a city through glowing red outlines and gestural cars is such a fresh take on urban sketching.
Inspiration Story (28/30): Strong narrative. You can almost feel the hum of the engines and the hazy atmosphere of a city that never sleeps.
Effort (28/30): The loose expressive lines show a confident thought process and a great eye for color contrast.
Prize: 2 HIVE

3rd Place: @kimbolimbi — Robot Earhands
Final Score: 89/100
Creativity (38/40): Totally wild and inventive, the character Earhands is exactly the kind of eccentric character design that makes SketchQuest so much fun.
Inspiration Story (25/30): Fun and imaginative. The snowy setting adds a nice layer of isolation that makes the bright blue character stand out even more.
Effort (26/30): Solid, bold silhouette work. The shape is very strong and memorable.
Prize: 1 HIVE
A Personal Thank You to Our Participants
To @jadung: I love the Mountain Top Dream your lines and those stylized pink clouds made for such a peaceful, flat aesthetic landscape.
To @mabalacat: LX-41 is such a dapper visitor the combination of the pink alien head and the professional tie was a hilarious and creative touch.
To @suezoe: Looking Up brought so much joy. The abstract use of colorful circles feels like looking through a kaleidoscope of happy thoughts.
To @loverdoll: Such a relatable moment capturing the focus of an Uno game really highlights the everyday life vibe we love to see.
To @steempampanga: That gouache brush test was a success. The texture on the sweater and skirt gave the character a lovely, hand-painted feel.
To @nestodibuja: Elegance in simplicity. Your vase and tulips prove that loose lines and warm colors are all you need to create a charming mood. I learned two foreign words tulipanes and y thanks.
Until next time. Hive On
