¿Qué decidí dejar ir este año? Fácil: el bendito afán de complacer a todo el mundo.
Sí, ese impulso casi automático de decir que sí, aunque por dentro esté gritando que no. Ese hábito de ponerme de última en la lista, de cargar con culpas ajenas, de querer ser la buena, la eficiente, la que resuelve, la que siempre está disponible. ¡Ya no más!
Este año me dije: “Mira, mi amor, si no te da paz, no lo hagas. Si te drena, no lo cargues. Y si no te suma, que no te reste.” Así que estoy aprendiendo a decir “no” con una sonrisa, a poner límites sin culpa y a priorizarme sin sentirme egoísta. Porque si yo no me cuido, ¿quién lo hará?

First of all, I want to wish you a happy and blessed new year. May 2026 be filled with health, joy, accomplished goals, and lots of self-love. I love starting the year by sharing with you, because I have always found inspiration, strength, and good vibes in this community.
What did I decide to let go of this year? Easy: the blessed desire to please everyone.
Yes, that almost automatic impulse to say yes, even though inside I'm screaming no. That habit of putting myself last on the list, of carrying other people's guilt, of wanting to be the good one, the efficient one, the one who solves problems, the one who is always available. No more!
This year I said to myself, “Look, my love, if it doesn't give you peace, don't do it. If it drains you, don't carry it. And if it doesn't add to your life, don't let it take away from it.” So I'm learning to say “no” with a smile, to set boundaries without guilt, and to prioritize myself without feeling selfish. Because if I don't take care of myself, who will?

¿Y sabes qué? ¡Ya estoy viendo resultados! Me siento más liviana, más auténtica, más yo. Tengo más tiempo para lo que me gusta, más energía para lo que me importa, y más claridad para lo que quiero. Incluso me animé a hacer cosas que antes me parecían imposibles, como aprender mandarín (sí, ya sé, suena loco, pero me tiene emocionada).
No te voy a mentir: a veces me pica la culpa, a veces me dan ganas de volver a mis viejos hábitos. Pero luego me acuerdo de lo bien que se siente elegir desde el amor propio y no desde la obligación. Y ahí sigo, pasito a pasito, pero firme.
Así que este año no me propuse ser mejor… me propuse ser más libre. Y eso, para mí, ya es ganancia.
And you know what? I'm already seeing results! I feel lighter, more authentic, more like myself. I have more time for what I like, more energy for what matters to me, and more clarity about what I want. I've even dared to do things that seemed impossible before, like learning Mandarin (yes, I know, it sounds crazy, but I'm excited about it).
I'm not going to lie to you: sometimes I feel guilty, sometimes I want to go back to my old habits. But then I remember how good it feels to choose from a place of self-love and not obligation. And so I carry on, step by step, but steadily.
So this year, I didn't resolve to be better... I resolved to be freer. And that, for me, is already a win.

Porque si hay algo que me derrite más que un cumplido bien dicho, es ver la cara de mi hijo Gabo cuando le preparo su plato favorito: Pollo estilo KFC. Apenas huele el aceite calentándose, ya está rondando la cocina como tiburón oliendo sangre. Y no lo culpo… ¡me quedan de muerte lenta!
No es por echarme flores (bueno, sí, un poquito), pero me salen crujientes, doraditas, con ese sabor especiado que te hace cerrar los ojos con el primer bocado. Y lo mejor es que son fáciles de hacer, perfectas para esos días en que quiero consentirlo sin complicarme la vida.
Después de probar muchas maneras y tratar de encontrar un sabor parecido, en el que la cubierta crocante del pollo no se desprendiese de la piel, le pregunté a una amiga que le encanta cocinar, me dijo: "el secreto está en agregarle leche".
Yo pensé que era broma, pero ella me dijo:
"Si quieres que el pollo tenga esa cubierta crujiente que a todos nos hace delirar, lo que tienes que hacer es, antes de freírlo, lo pases por una mezcla de huevo y leche para después pasarlo por una mezcla de pan rallado y harina con sal y pimienta".

I'm not trying to brag (well, maybe a little), but they come out crispy, golden brown, with that spicy flavor that makes you close your eyes with the first bite. And the best part is that they're easy to make, perfect for those days when I want to spoil him without complicating my life.
After trying many different ways and trying to find a similar flavor, where the crispy coating on the chicken didn't come off the skin, I asked a friend who loves to cook, and she told me, “The secret is to add milk.”
I thought she was joking, but she said,
“If you want the chicken to have that crispy coating that we all love, what you have to do is, before frying it, dip it in a mixture of egg and milk and then coat it in a mixture of breadcrumbs and flour with salt and pepper.”

Tips importantes...

Important tips...
