Failing or Succeeding: Which Matters More? LOH #263

In life, both success and failure play vital roles in shaping our lives. However, I wouldn’t say that failing is more important than succeeding. Here is my reason.
When people begin to view failure as the more important part of life, they might become too comfortable and not willing to grow. This can create in them the mindset that failing is normal and acceptable, even when they haven’t done their part — putting in their best effort.
We all believe that failure is part of the process in becoming successful but it should never be the first thought we hold onto when pursuing something meaningful or achieving a great goal.
To me, success should remain the ultimate goal. It’s what we all strive for, what gives us the push to wake up every day and keep going forward. The truth is that failure happens, mostly when we do not expect it. No one ever set out to fail, but life does happen, and our plans do not go as we have envisioned.
When we fail, it doesn’t mean we should give up and that it’s the end of the road. Instead, it should be what drives us to pick ourselves up, reflect and try again, this time around, with the lessons and experiences we’ve gathered from it.
To me, failure is like a secondary thought, it’s not something we should focus on, but something to be aware of. When we begin a journey, our minds should be fixed on achieving success, not on the fear of failing. However, since we cannot predict the future, failure can show up at any time, but it shouldn’t break us; rather, it should mould us.
We should see failure and accept it as a part of growth and also a stepping stone towards success.
One of the beauties of failure is that it teaches us lessons that success alone cannot. It humbles us, sharpens our drive and exposes us to different and new strategies to work on next time.

We have many successful people who have become examples for us to follow and learn from their past mistakes. These people didn’t expect to fail when they started on their journeys. They began with lots of hopes, plans and confidence but along the line, their expectations were met with disappointment and frustration.
But what stood them out among others were their sheer determination and how they responded to failure. They didn’t quit. Instead, they accepted and embraced their mistakes, learned from them and came back stronger.
That’s why I believe that failure comes with a purpose but not as the major thing to focus on. Its role is to prepare us for the success ahead and not to replace it.
Just like a coin with two sides, so are success and failure. You can’t appreciate one without understanding the other. Guess what? Success becomes sweeter when you have tasted what it’s like to fail and failure feels less bitter when you know it can lead to growth.
Still, I believe success should be the main focus. It means we shouldn’t glorify failure but we can appreciate the lessons it brings. The key is balance, which comes from aiming higher, working hard and when failure happens, let’s see it as a teacher that teaches us to keep moving and not one to make us stop.
In conclusion, though failure is important, it doesn't take away the fact that success should be the goal. The lessons learned from failure become valuable when they are used to succeed.

I totally agree with you. Success will remain unappreciated when failure never happens and failure will become a downfall when success is never attained.
Very well said @princessbusayo, failure is an important part of life and growth, but it should never be the focus, instead just a part of the process.

Lol.some people can really over do things. When they fail they just relax and when you try to advice them to do better, they will start quoting people that has failed and didn't die 😂
They will say, "I cannot come and kill myself" 🤣
