Wallpaper Worth Pictures! Gaming Photography Challenge!

Hello and welcome back to my blog!

This Week's Contest theme by the Gaming Photography Community is Wallpaper Worth Pictures. So, I booted up Ghost of Tsushima to take some more shots... I already had many, but you can't have too many...right?

You've got to start with the beautiful pampas grasslands. These grasslands are some of my favorite locations in the game. I had to make sure Jin's attire matched the beautiful landscape. I would flip the photo if I want to use it on my desktop because I use a lot of desktop icons on the left side.

The next shot is a beautiful sunset on the island's western coast. This scene is a bit busier than I would have liked but the golden hue made it attractive.

I love the next shot, it expresses the resolve our Samurai has to defend this land from the oncoming Mongol invasion. The sunset over the horizon with multiple Mongol ships and a raven tells a grim story. The story of a bloody invasion but Jin is determined and ready to face the challenges with the Katana in his hand and a mighty bow.

How about Jin practicing some moves in the middle of the night with a cool hat and attire? I love these fields of flowers. I changed the weather to make it look even more dramatic.

Once I came across a desolate place, and it struck me. A good foggy weather here would be interesting. It was clear weather that time, but thankfully, the photo mode is one of the best I have seen, and you can change the time of day and weather whenever you want. I played with some more settings like adding a few particles. It turned out nice. I can see myself using it as a wallpaper someday.

There are many cool objects in the game and I love to take pictures of these. One of the things that makes a game good is those little details, which shows how much love went into the world-building. There is a big hot spring in the middle of the first island. That place is full of activity. I found these lamps sitting on a small island surrounded by hot springs. It caught my eye and I think the shot turned out good as well. What do you think?

Back to some combat and beautiful landscape. You can see Jin ending an enemy's suffering and finishing the job. I love the sky in this one.

One of the side activities you can do in the game is taking a dip at the hot springs spread across the islands. These increase your maximum health, and all of them are easy to spot because of the crimson-leaved tree growing on the side of it.

I think I added a bit too many particles in this shot lol.

Time to show some more structures. The next two shots are the same locations just with different angles, time of the day and weather conditions. Which one do you like more of the two? I like the first one better than the second.

The next one was a beautiful composition I found. A mossy wooden bridge over a pond with lily pads floating in it and a mountain in the background. It has a lot of interesting elements. It would have been better with a higher depth of field. That was a missed opportunity, I guess. But if you overlook that part, the foreground elements are not too bad. Won't you agree?

I like the next shot mostly because of the interesting clouds and lights. Jin is riding his horse Kage and trying to make a strategy to capture the next Mongol camp.

I will leave you all with a greyscale image that turned out well. For this one, I had to swim to the middle of the lake to capture this. I was testing the filters, and B/W looked the best for this scene.

Thanks for reading.

Until next shot...

Incredible shots, bro. That first one in B&W is just perfect for a desktop background, and the other shots are also stunning.
The grim sunset with the Mongol ships is also wallpaper material, Great work.

Yeah, I have the first one as my wallpaper, going to keep it until I get bored and have something cool to replace it with. That would be another shot from one of the games I play lol.

I forgot to share this one. I love this too for a desktop wallpaper.

I have not played this title but I have read in several places that the gameplay is not so good, the landscapes are beautiful but the other part leaves something to be desired. What do you think? Would you recommend it to play?

By the way very beautiful landscapes you have brought

The only thing I would change is the repetitive side activities, which feel like a chore after some point. But other than that I am enjoying the gameplay as much as the landscapes. The best part has to be the combat, it makes you feel so badass. I would recommend it.

The sunset shot with the Mongol ships is very cool. It’s got that perfect mix of beauty and dread. Definitely a cool one even if it's on a mobile phone it'll still be cool

This games beauty never fails to impress, and you captured it perfectly. I see each shot tells a story and that greyscale image was a great final touch.
