Gaming Photography Challenge: Cinematic Shots!

Hello and welcome back to my blog!

This Week's Contest theme by the Gaming Photography Community is Cinematic Shots. It's been a long time since I joined this contest. I almost missed this one, too, but thankfully, I saw it when I had a few hours left. But if you want to participate in such contests, you can do it every week.

I have a lot of beautiful shots from the game, Horizon Zero Dawn, and I will be showcasing many of them with you, especially high-action scenes.

One of the most formidable machines in the game is a flying machine called Stormbird. These are rare and found in only some specific locations. I have encountered them twice only but every fight is a test of patience and endurance.

You'd better be prepared against its electric attacks and know the weak points well. Otherwise, it can be a tough opponent for you.

Glinthawk are another flying machines which are the scavengers here. They feed on dead machine parts. I am telling you this game's wild machines have their ecosystem with predators and prey roaming all around the world.

They are not that tough to take care of. But the corrupted machines have a bit more health and corruption attack, which deals extra damage. The particle effect, indicating that corruption oozes out of them, makes for a nice shot.

An annoying machine to fight against is the Snapmaw, which is are alligator-like machines that love to live around rivers and lakes. They are enormous in comparison to Aloy. You can see it from this next shot of two Snapmaws fighting each other.

If you can override one of the hostile machines, it helps you fight against the others. That's what's happening in the above shot.

These animal fights are amazing to see. You can override machines which you can ride and attack from the top of them too.

I love the above shot, Aloy mounted on a Broadhead, who is attacking a smaller Watcher in the middle of a stormy night. The lightbeam colour indicates which machine is friendly, and the heavy winds made it even more epic.

There is no shortage of beautiful cinematic shots in the game. Look at the following, where Aloy is opening a door which leads to an underground area.

Or Aloy rappelling down an edge smoothly like it is the easiest thing in the world ever. I don't understand this game logic of the rope and hook automatically coming back to the players, but who cares when it looks this cool...right?

My favourite machine in the entire game is Tallneck, which acts like a radio tower in the game. These tall giraffe-like machines give some of the best shots to.

It is not just the machines which are dangerous; humans are quite dangerous too, especially bandits and rival clans. But Aloy have more than one way to take care of them. She can either sneakily take them down one by one with her arrows or go berserk with heavy guns.

Some of the enemy camps even have these dangerous machines trapped. What kind of science experiments are they doing with them? I am a big obstacle in their research XD.

I will leave you with a beautiful night shot. No filters were used in this shot; this is exactly how it looked in-game, and damn, that looked nice to me. One of the best things about this game is its beautiful environments and amazing lighting.

Let me know if you like those shots and which one is your favourite among them. Mine would be a close call between the first shot and that Giraffe machine.

Thanks for reading.

Until next shot...
