DIYHUB CONTEST - I made a cup saucer with banana leaves.
Hello everyone@diyhub community
I am here to share with you all what i did with my leisure time.
Today was just great,i woke up with the thought of creating a diy today.
And from this month's theme,i had to think of a whole lot that i can do.

Truthfully, this month's theme is really inspiring and i sincerely wanted to be part of it which i am glad that i am.
And i am so happy to share with you all hiw i used the leaf in creating a saucer.
Here are the simple materials used:
- Banana leaves
- Scissors.

The first step was really interesting i walked round my environment, with great intentions of finding something natural
At first my thoughts wasn't on plants but on stones
I kept looking through because i needed some stones to use,we have some of it around and i knew it will be fun to create something with it.

Well, fortunately for me i saw this banana plant and a thought came into my mind and i decided to make use of the leaf.

In my area the leaf is often used for cooking, some food can be wrapped with it and put in a pot for cooking, some things can be baked with it.it can also be used in roasting things.i believe it has alot of health benefits and its always used for storage, the leaves are large and it is wide enough for you use.
I can remember when we were kids,we usually use it as an umbrella when it rains.
Today i decided to create a saucer with the banana leaf.
And the few steps i took was fun and interesting.

I started by cutting out the leaf on a straight line.
I made has many as possible, at least a sizeable one which will be enough for a saucer.

I started matting it through
from the pieces i created,i took one each and put it through each row.

I continued till i was okay with the size.
Then i stopped and folded the extra lines through each other just yo make it firmer.
And i was happy it went well as i planed
I hope you all enjoyed the processed as i put it through here.

Banana leaves have many uses, I loved this one, apart from the fact that the same leaf gave you two different shades of color to create a nice contrast in the fabric, I congratulate you, you did a nice job, greetings ☺️
Thank you so much for your nice comment
I noticed that the back side of the leaf was lighter in colour so while using the front side,I used the back side as pieces to mat it through.
It looks pretty cool. It is impressive to see what she did with banana leaves.
