Curiosity Over Fear

A beautiful creature longing to explore the beautiful world. "Where could my parents be?" Oba said. "They come and go, yet we know they do not come empty-handed. They, with wings, fly freely without confinement—not considering to take us with them. I will probably explore on my own. But what if the world is dangerous?" Oba thought. "Can I be on this path alone?"

However, his curiosity overwhelmed him. He then decided. His eyes gently noticed how tall he was. He got scared and decided to calculate the physics using the SUVAT equations, but it was too complex.

Tiny creatures of similar sizes, and some with bigger sizes, flew nearer, flapping their wings and doing what he felt was an acrobatic display of free will.

He saw the king of the skies, the eagle, and wondered why they looked so different. He wondered why they don't speak like his parents.

"Mom… Dad. Mom, Dad…" Oba sighted his parents from afar with meals at hand.

Mum shouted, "Get into the nest! It is risky out of it. You are curious to fly, but you need to eat well so that you can grow big and fly." Soon Oba devoured his portion from the delicacies his mum brought.

After eating, Oba said, "Mum! Thanks for the nutritional delicacy. I love it." His mum smiled and said to him, "That's my boy."

Oba laughed.

Oba grew big and was ready to fly. He stood up and moved closer to the edge of the tree shoots, and his mum encouraged him to flap his wings. Mum shouted, "Flap your wings and fly, my dear!"

The once timid Oba gave it an attempt, and he flew. For a moment he didn't know how to, and he was about to crash. Unbeknownst to him, his mum caught him mid-flight.

Oba and his mum laughed, knowing fully well that he was in safe hands. Mum encouraged him once more. Oba's weak wing muscles flapped harder, and he flew for a while before crashing one more time. Oba shouted, "Yay! I can fly! I can fly!" His mum was impressed to see him take his first flight, though not a completely successful one. Other members of the family applauded and celebrated Oba for being courageous during his first flight. Some began narrating the first flight of their own kids and told him to be brave.

The old vulture they called Yeye narrated his mum's first flight as a wonder because she flew without her own supervision. She said that she was scared that her baby was gone—not until she was able to see her appear behind her.

Everyone celebrated with lion's meat.

Oba took the next flight, and he joined the flight squad.

Years later, he was crowned the lead vulture and soon married into a beautiful family.

Do I think Oba would be a good dad?

A very interesting story to read. The narrative shows us the evolution of the vulture y while it grows. Very good job.

Thanks for sharing your story with us.

Excellent Wednesday.
