Victory Without the Reward.

Last time, I shared my experience clearing a heavily guarded roof using pure stealth. It was a game of cat and mouse with whistling guards toward my hiding spots and even tricking one who had almost given up on finding me.

With the first rooftop finally clear, I turned my attention to the soldiers stationed on the adjacent building. I had a strong feeling that the big guy among them was carrying the key to the secret door I needed to unlock. I spent a moment calculating my path, knowing that getting to that roof would require some agility.

I leaped off my current perch, aiming for a pile of soft clothes on the ground to break my fall and avoid taking any damage. Once on the street level, I spotted a quick lift mechanism. I hooked on and let it whistle me back up to the height of the second roof, closing the distance between me and my targets in seconds.

After landing on the roof, I spotted a bench and decided to try a patient approach. I sat down, hoping to blend in and strike only when the soldiers walked directly past me. It was a classic assassin move, but the restricted nature of the zone made it difficult to stay invisible for long.

The plan didn't go as expected. The enemies caught a glimpse of me from a distance before I could fully settle in. Realizing the bench was no longer a safe spot, I quickly abandoned it and dove into nearby cover.

The big guy started to pull back, flanked by his guards. I saw an opportunity to thin their ranks. I let out a sharp whistle, causing one of the guards to break formation to investigate the noise. As soon as he rounded the corner to my position, I struck, assassinating him before he could make a sound.

The kill didn't go entirely unnoticed. I sensed the tension rising, so I quickly climbed down and tucked myself into a hiding spot below the roofline.

The big guy soon discovered his fallen comrade, and he began searching the perimeter and started climbing down exactly to where I was waiting in the shadows.

I held my breath as he reached the bottom and walked right toward my hiding spot. The moment he was within range, I lunged out and assassinated him. It was a clean kill on my primary target. I made sure to drag his heavy body into the hiding spot with me to keep the area looking deserted.

I began my climb back up to finish off the stragglers. On my way, I encountered an enemy who nearly caught me off guard. I had to move fast, taking him out mid-climb just as another guard. Then one of the big guy's personal protectors, started to look in my direction.

I dropped into cover as that final guard followed his regular patrol path toward my spot. He was walking right into his end. I stayed low, waited for him to pass, and then moved in for the assassination.

To be safe, I tucked his body behind a wall where it wouldn't be easily spotted from the ground. Anyway, I didn't get the key I was looking for.

Until next time, happy gaming.

I liked how the plan adapted when the bench tactic failed. Were you expecting the big guy to climb down like that?

I didn't even expect him to notice his fallen buddy. And I guess I missed the key cause I assassinated him from the hiding zone.

Your use of hiding spots and body placement made the whole sequence very realistic and well planned. Even though you did not get the key, the entire stealth run was impressive and fun to watch.
