"Why I'd Choose a Female Horse as a Pet." #243

Good day, people of Hive! Welcome to my blog. Today's topic is from Ladies of Hive, which says:

"If you could have any animal for a pet, what would you choose and why? Would you prefer the male or female animal of that species?" So, let’s dive in.

If I could choose any animal as a pet, I would choose a horse. The reason why I choose a horse is because they are beautiful, calm, and smart.

The first thing I love about horses is how they look. They’re tall, strong, and beautiful, especially the white horses. I love how their hair flow in the wind whenever they are running. There’s something special about them. When they run, they look so confident and free, as if they don’t care about anything happening around them. And I love such confidence in them.

Another reason I love horses is that, even though they don’t speak, they understand humans especially their owners just like dogs. Horses are also very loyal and friendly. Once a horse trusts you, that trust stays forever, and they can form a strong bond with you.

Even though I’ve never ridden a horse before, the experience I’ve gained from watching horse movies how they understand what their owners tell them and how loyal they are and observing real-life horses with their owners has given me some understanding of how they behave. I’ve noticed that to make a horse trust you, you must be patient and kind. Horses don’t just trust anybody; you have to earn their respect and trust. Once they see you care for them, they become very loyal.

If anyone has watched the Korean series Arthdal Chronicles, you’d remember a horse named "Helper", who obeyed a girl’s command and went to help someone in need. That scene really showed how loyal horses are to their owner's. And I love such loyalty in them.

If I had a horse, I would take care of it very well. I’d make sure it was properly fed, clean its body and stable (where it sleeps), and take it outside for walks so we could both enjoy nature together.

Now, if I had to choose between a male or female horse, I would go for a female, which is called a mare. The reason why will go for female horse is because they are quiet, peaceful and calm unlike male horse.

For example, we can see two horses logos in Nigeria coats of arms, and that’s because horses stand for freedom, peace, and dignity. These are all qualities I admire in horses.

The first time I realized that horses can feel emotions was when I watched an Indian movie. In the movie, the horse’s owner died, and before he passed, he told someone close to him to take care of the horse. The horse became sad and didn’t trust the new person. When the man tried to ride it, the horse threw him to the ground. It took the man a lot of effort before the horse finally begin to trust him. That touched me. It showed how loyal a horse can be and how deep the bond with their true owner was.

In conclusion, I would choose a horse as my pet because of my love for it and how friendly and loyal they are to their owners.
