More Than Romance: The True Meaning of Valentine's Day. #276

Before I start writing, I would love to share a brief history about Valentine’s Day.

The Valentine’s Day that we celebrate every year is named after one or more early Christian martyrs known as St. Valentine. A popular legend says that Valentine was a priest in 3rd century Rome who defied Emperor Claudius II by secretly marrying couples, which later led to his execution.

The reason we celebrate Valentine’s Day today is because of St. Valentine, who risked his life to unite couples in holy matrimony. The day is not meant for fornication; it is meant to celebrate sacrificial love.

Valentine’s Day is now a global celebration of romantic love, friendship, and affection. People show love by exchanging gifts, kind messages, and spending time with one another.

Now back to the topic.

We all know that February is the month many people talk about love and friendship. When Valentine’s Day comes, the atmosphere changes because people start thinking about gifts, messages, and special surprises. As content creators, this is a good time to think about what kind of message we want to share and who we want to share it with.

Like I said earlier, Valentine’s Day is not only for people who are dating or married. Love is not just about romance. Love also includes our family, friends, children, and even people who have supported us in one way or another.

For example, if you have a spouse or partner, you can write something simple and honest. I know Valentine’s Day has already passed, but during that time, you don’t need big grammar. Just express yourself the way you truly feel. You can thank them for standing by you, for supporting you, encouraging you, and for loving you even on your bad days. You can also create a video memory, showing how you both met and how far you have come till now. The most important thing is that your message should be real, not fake.

If you have children, Valentine’s Day is also a good time to remind them that they are deeply loved by both you and their dad. Tell them how proud you are of them and how much joy they bring into your life.

And yes, friends should not be left out. Some friends are like family just like .y friends. They listen to you, laugh with you, cry with you, and support you when things are hard. You can use that period to thank and appreciate them. A short message or even a video that contains your pictures together, with a heartfelt message added to it, can mean so much. You can even frame a picture and write your appreciation at the back or under the picture.

Like I said, I will forever be grateful to my friends because without them I don't know what to do, because they're more than just friends to me, they're like a blood sisters to me because they have done lot for me especially Roseline and Christiana.

In conclusion, Valentine’s Day is about reminding people that they are seen and appreciated. We can even sing a song to make our loved ones smile, feel loved, and feel remembered. That is what the month of love and friendship is truly about.
