A Simple Christmas, No Decorations Needed. #268

Good day, people of Hive! Welcome to my blog. Today's topic is from Ladies of Hive, which says:
Have you already decorated for the holidays, or are you planning to? Show us a glimpse of your space and tell us about your decorations. So, let's dive in.
Honestly, I don't really know yet because I'm still in school, and I'm not even sure if I'll be traveling to my hometown for Christmas. Everything is still a maybe for now, so I'm just waiting to see how things will turn out. Plans can change anytime, so I'm just waiting to see how it goes.
Even if I do travel home for Christmas, we don't usually decorate our house. It has never really been our thing. Instead of decorations, what we normally do is clean the house, wash the curtains, clean the surroundings, and make sure the house is neat before the remaining family arrives. All the plates, bowls, pots, and other kitchen utensils are washed and arranged properly. For us, that cleaning alone already feels like Christmas preparation. No Christmas tree, no Christmas lights.

Though I don't know, maybe this year will be different. They might decide to decorate, but honestly, I don't really think so. We've been doing it this same way for years, even before we lost our late grandma. So, I'm already used to it.
To be honest, I don't think we'll do much this Christmas because some of our family members have been saying they won't be coming home for Christmas. Some say they'll celebrate their Christmas wherever they are, and others are just busy with different things. Because of that, the usual Christmas excitement doesn't really feel strong this time around.
In conclusion, for now, there's no decorated space to show—just a simple home and simple plans. And to me, that's okay. If I should say the truth, I would say Christmas doesn't always have to be about decorations or doing too much, don't quote me wrong oo. Sometimes, just having a clean home, peace of mind, and being grateful for witnessing and celebrating another Christmas, instead of celebrating it in a grave, is more than enough.
This is my entry for the Ladies Of Hive Community Contest.

Having the house clean to receive family also seems like a very necessary preparation. Hugs

Thank you @irenenavarroart and @ladytoken.
Yes, that's a necessary preparation because we can't leave the house unclean like that.
"a clean home, peace of mind, and being grateful" are wonderful gifts to oneself! 😊
