Shadows That Live With Us. Entry for the ShadowHunters SMASh Contest-round 416

(Edited)

Hello Shadow Hunters community, once again I’m posting in this community and doing so to take part in the ShadowHunters SMASh Contest, round 416.

I live in one of the tall buildings in the city of Matanzas. From here you can see how the light changes during the day and how that change transforms everything around us.

The building is surrounded by trees and plants in its gardens. They are part of the everyday landscape, something we see every day when we come in or go out, when we look through a window, or simply when we walk near them. But there are moments when those same trees seem to show us another version of themselves.

I mean their shadows.

At different times of the day, the sun takes care of drawing them on the ground, on the walls, or even on the paths of the garden. Sometimes they are long and thin in the morning. Other times they look shorter and more defined when the sun is high. And by the end of the afternoon they stretch again, as if they wanted to reach something farther away.

It is curious how something so common can change so much depending on the light.

Sometimes I pass by and stop just to look at them. We do not always think about the shadows of trees, but when you pay attention, you discover that they also have their own beauty. They are not only the absence of light; they are shapes that are born thanks to it.

These photos that I share today are precisely from some of those moments. Moments in which the trees in the gardens surrounding my building decided to leave their mark in the form of shadows.

Sometimes nature does not need to do much to surprise us. It only needs us to stop for a moment and look.

Thanks to @melinda010100 for every call for this contest.

Thanks for everything, and I declare that the images were taken with my mobile phone and the English translation is thanks to Google.
