San Francisco de Paula / Reflection Hunters SMARP Contest - Round 255

Greetings, community friends. A recent trip to Havana allowed me to rediscover some sites and enjoy others that I had passed by on previous tours.

This time, I’m sharing images from my visit to the Church of San Francisco de Paula, located at the intersection of Leonor and Desamparados streets in Old Havana, very close to the Bay.
It is one of the city’s emblematic heritage treasures. Its architectural features, with clear Spanish influence, stand out for their beautiful stained-glass windows. It also houses the church’s original organ.

The stillness of this place, now three centuries old, restored and preserved by the Office of the City Historian, also safeguards the remains of the famous Claudio José Domingo Brindis de Salas y Garrido (Havana, August 4, 1852 – Buenos Aires, June 1, 1911), a Cuban violinist known as "the Black Paganini."
Since 2000,it has served as a concert hall for early music and an exhibition space for important visual artists.

This post is original content created and documented by me. Photo is my own and properly credited.
