Hello friends and community, this is a small drawing for the @allyson19 challenge: DRESS UP A BUG: CHARACTER DESIGN CONTEST. It’s also directly inspired by a drawing from @artofkylin in their 28 Bugs challenge. I really enjoyed making this drawing and I’m very happy with the final result, hopefully you’ll like it too. Without a doubt, the protagonist could only be her beautiful yellow spider.

Hola amigos y comunidad, este es un pequeño dibujo para el reto de @allyson19: DRESS UP A BUG: CHARACTER DESIGN CONTEST. Además, tiene como inspiración directa un dibujo de @artofkylin en su reto de dibujar 28 Bugs. Disfruté mucho realizar este dibujo y me gustó mucho el resultado final, espero que a ustedes también les guste. Sin dudas, la protagonista no podía ser otra que su bella arañita amarilla.

The Web Rebel, a spider punk

“Mum, it’s not a phase!” shouted the little spider as she left home. One day she simply woke up and decided that black would be the only color worth wearing. Since then, her favorite band has been “The Web,” and she has no intention of ever changing it.

«¡Mamá, no es una fase!», gritó la pequeña araña mientras salía de casa. Un día simplemente se levantó y decidió que el negro sería el único color que valía la pena usar. Desde entonces, su grupo favorito es “The Web”, y no piensa cambiarlo jamás.

A cute lil spider

I started by making a simple structure for the pose of my drawing. I wanted something in a cartoon style, cheerful and cute like my reference, with a head bigger than the body of course. From this simple structure, I will begin adding details.

Comencé haciendo una estructura simple de la pose de mi dibujo. Quería algo estilo cartoon, alegre y bonito como mi referencia, con la cabeza más grande que su cuerpo por supuesto. De esta estructura simple partiré agregando detalles.

I will respect the entire structure and color of the original spider. It’s very simple, since I’ll use the body as the head and add the legs to the back. I will simply humanize it more.

Respetaré toda la estructura y color de la araña original. De forma muy fácil, ya que usaré el cuerpo como la cabeza y le agregaré las patas a la espalda. Simplemente la humanizaré más.

3.

With my sketch ready, I made the line art and started coloring. I’ll show you where the original insect is, and now all that’s left is to color the rest.

Con mi boceto listo hice el line art y comencé a colorear. Les muestro dónde está el insecto original, ahora solo resta colorear lo demás.

4.

This is how my character looks fully colored. For the background, I will add similar elements and use the same color as in the original design.

Así quedó todo mi personaje coloreado. Para el fondo colocaré elementos semejantes y el mismo color del diseño original.
