This is my drawing that will be part of 🏁 CONTEST: Sketch Quest : Evolve a Bug Contest, but it will also be one more insect for the challenge of drawing 28 bugs. I’m sharing the link to the respective posts and announcements.

“My ladybug evolved into a superhero alien protector, inspired by its ecological role and Digimon-style transformations.”

The insect I decided to evolve was the ladybug I drew in the AlienArt community, where I explained how aliens are inspired by insects and how many believe that if aliens existed, they would take insect-like forms. I also narrated the importance of ladybugs for the environment and agriculture, especially as natural controllers of other pests. I then decided that my ladybug would be inspired by: the ladybug itself, the insect I drew; the alien, based on the theory that insects are the aliens of Earth; and the superhero, for its beneficial role in protecting crops. For the evolution process, I was inspired by one of my favorite cartoons, Digimon, where the first evolution is always an animal or a basic form, and then a second form, almost always humanoid, stronger and more powerful.

The insecto que decidí evolucionar fue la mariquita que dibujé en la comunidad AlienArt, donde explicaba cómo los aliens se inspiran en insectos y cómo muchos creen que, de existir, los aliens tendrían forma de insectos. También narré la importancia de las mariquitas para el medio ambiente y la agricultura, sobre todo como controladores naturales de otras plagas. Decidí entonces que mi mariquita estaría inspirada en: la mariquita, el insecto que dibujé; el alien, por la teoría de que los insectos son los aliens de la Tierra; y el superhéroe, por su beneficiosa labor protegiendo cultivos. Para el proceso de evolución me inspiré en una de mis caricaturas favoritas, Digimon, donde la primera evolución siempre es un animal o una forma básica, y después una segunda forma, casi siempre humanoide, más fuerte y poderosa.

Step by step

Paso a paso

1.

I started by creating the pose and the parts of my character, who will be a superhero in a heroic victory stance.

Comencé creando la pose y las partes de mi personaje, que será un superhéroe en una posición heroica de victoria.

The second step was to begin what would be my final sketch, creating each feature and detail of my character: its antennas, its large eyes, belt and cape, gloves and boots.

El segundo paso fue comenzar ya con lo que sería mi boceto definitivo, creando cada rasgo y detalle de mi personaje: sus antenas, sus grandes ojos, cinturón y capa, guantes y botas.

When I had my entire sketch ready, I began to create the lines of my drawing and add details such as the spots on its ladybug costume.

Cuando tuve todo mi boceto listo, comencé a crear las líneas de mi dibujo y a agregar detalles como las manchas de su traje de mariquita.

4.

Finally, the moment arrived to add color to my drawing so that it would be finished.

Por último, llegó el momento de dar color a mi dibujo para que estuviera finalizado.
