Observa, Piensa, Escribe: El Insecto Hoja ESP/ENG

Ver esta foto me recordó un programa que vi alguna vez por Discovery Chanel sobre insectos, este en específico, un pequeño saltamontes en forma de hoja. Aunque técnicamente no es un saltamontes sino que pertenece a esta familia de insectos.

Me explico mejor, estos pequeños animalitos pertenecen a una misma familia o grupo de insectos conocida como Phylliidae que engloba a todos los insectos que tienen forma de hoja a nivel general. Algunos por otro lado, tienen forma de palo o ramita seca y a estos se les llama Phasmatodea.

El hecho es que este pequeño insecto hoja que parece pertenecer a los saltamontes tiene un nivel de supervivencia altamente desarrollado digno de admirar. Es en ellos que podemos notar la evolución natural de un ser vivo adaptándose al medio ambiente para mantener su especie en el futuro.

Son tan peculiares estos insectos que al estar entre las ramas de un árbol, caminan lentamente con suave movimiento, meciéndose poco, haciendo la imitación perfecta de una hoja moviéndose con el viento.

Es así que logran pasar desapercibidos ante cualquiera de sus depredadores como las aves o lagartijas. Y otro dato curioso sobre ellos es que a medida que cambian las estaciones, ellos también van cambiando paulatinamente su follaje, combinando su color al de las hojas secas cuando llega el invierno, pasando del verde vivo al marrón del otoño.

Y verlos cómo se adaptan en uno de estos programas de televisión fue bastante entretenido e informativo. Su modo de supervivencia es de admirar y me sirve de inspiración para llevar mis luchas personales. Si un pequeño insecto lo logra con éxito en medio del peligro, ¿qué me priva a mi de alcanzar mis metas?

Seeing this photo reminded me of a program I once saw on Discovery Channel about insects, this one in particular, a small leaf-shaped grasshopper. Although technically it's not a grasshopper, it belongs to this family of insects.

Let me explain better, these little creatures belong to the same family or group of insects known as Phylliidae, which encompasses all leaf-shaped insects in general. Some, on the other hand, are shaped like sticks or dry twigs, and these are called Phasmatodea.

The fact is that this small leaf insect, which appears to belong to the grasshopper family, has a highly developed level of survival that is worthy of admiration. It is in them that we can see the natural evolution of a living being adapting to the environment to maintain its species in the future.

These insects are so peculiar that when they are among the branches of a tree, they walk slowly with a gentle movement, swaying slightly, perfectly imitating a leaf moving in the wind.

This is how they manage to go unnoticed by any of their predators, such as birds or lizards. Another interesting fact about them is that as the seasons change, their foliage also gradually changes color, matching the color of dry leaves when winter arrives, going from bright green to the brown of autumn.

And watching them adapt on one of these television programs was quite entertaining and informative. Their survival skills are admirable and serve as an inspiration for my personal struggles. If a small insect can successfully survive in the midst of danger, what's stopping me from achieving my goals?
