Hello, friends around the world. Hello, friends at Hive. Today is Saturday, the perfect day to rest, relax, have fun, or share a beer with friends.
Today, as I am on holiday, I decided to stay at home and tidy up a few things. I always like to organise my books and papers at the end of each semester, so that I feel like I have closed one chapter and can start a new one in October, which is when the new semester begins.
But before starting, I put on some music, opened Hive to check what's new, and put four beers in the fridge. The beer I'll be drinking today is relatively new on the market, but it has been very well received by young Venezuelans, especially women. This beer is Mal Portada.
It should be noted that the beer is being launched following the huge success of Mal Portada sangria. To expand its product catalogue, Regional launched this Pilsen-style beer and an interesting and bold campaign, taking advantage of the Mal Portada name and the product logo: red, full lips.
The beer is light yellow in colour, with a generous head, and has a smooth flavour, without much bitterness and with a hint of sweetness. It is light and refreshing, with an alcohol content of 4.5%. According to the label, it contains standard ingredients such as hops, malted barley, water and cereals. It costs between 1 and 1.50 $.
I don't know if you know of any products, or even people, that are pure name. My grandmother used to say, ‘We always know the traveller by their suitcase.’ When a beer is called Mal Portada, we immediately think of fun, recklessness, uninhibitedness, madness, and wildness. But no, it's a simple beer, and in order for you to misbehave, you'd have to drink a whole crate of Mal Portada
